Bottle 鸴ml) shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, jerc & tupalev -- courtesy of GregClow. Pours a murky yellow-orange with an average size diminishing creamy white head. Nice aroma of citrus, spices, yeast and lightly tart fruit. Tasty and refreshing flavour’s citrusy and yeasty along with spices and a light sourness. Medium bodied. Another great Hopfenstark beer!

500 ml bottle. Very pale straw-yellow colour. Lots of suspended yeast. Aroma is just great, bright lemon citrus aroma with a bit of coriander, leather and light funkiness. Flavour is quite bright and acidic. Fairly tart and citric with a long lingering acidity. Some nice wheaty character along with the light refreshing tartness.

2008-05-01. Murky pastel yellow body with a modest white head, decent lacing. Tart sour fruit, pineapple up front, strange melange of tropical fruit follows with a lightly funky sour. Similar flavour, light refreshing sourness, tart, modest fruit, lemon, ambiguous sweet hints of citrus, tangy sour finish lingers pleasantly. Average palate, effervescent. Ɠ+) Pretty interesting, quite nice. Bottle shared by Blankboy

Bottle 鸴ml). Shared with blankboy, GregClow, jerc and tupalev, courtesy of Fred from Hopfenstark. This one’s for you, Dany! (heh heh heh). Cloudy light gold, solid creamy lasting white head. Amazing aroma - wow, I love this - lemon-sour malt, candy fruit malt, incredibly rich spice and yeast saison pungency - terrific. Taste - WHY can I not buy this beer in Ontario!??? WHY!!!!? - equal parts sour malt, lemon, lemon grass hops, thick pungent fresh spice, alcohol, all of it managing to blend well and even finish dry and crisp. Nearly perfect body - acidic, dry, moderately thick, long shifting malt/sour/spice/yeast finish .... I bow to you, Fred. Another 4+ from Hopfenstark.

Same bottle as puzzl, shared by the brewer. Pale straw yellow pour, almost cloudy white from all the sediment / yeast. Aroma is pretty leathery, yeasty, grainy, and with lemony tartness. Flavor is nice, not as leathery as anticipated, citrusy lemons are somewhat tart and the yeast adds a little sweetness. Enjoyed this.

Bottle from the brewer. This stuff is awesome. Fiercely cloudy pour, absolutely opaque, with a nice head. Looks like a lemon tart. Aroma is a tart, lemony yeasty delight, lemon meringue with crust, with a bitter, citrusy finish. Flavor is bretty with a great, tart finish, lots of lemon and yeast throughout. Sourness is mild but perfect. Super drinkable. Only flaw is perhaps a bit too much carbonation, and some really odd kind of McDonalds note in the aroma. Great stuff. Thanks, Fred!

500 ml bottle from brewery via Lubiere (merci!), served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass. AP20/08.

App.: Cloudy (really cloudy) light golden, small white head. Aroma: Yeast, dough, some bitter green herbs and funk, light barnyard (urine) and some bright organic acids, a bit lemony and a little biscuity. Palate: Medium body and soft effervescence. Flav.: Light biscuit and cereal, definitely maltier than the nose, less saison funk, a bit of lemon and peppery spice, quite sour/tangy – to the point of puckering, a touch of bitterness with a clean finish.

Interesting, refreshing and light: a good summer beer.

Thanks to eclectic for sharing this. Pours a modestly carbonated (cap was a bit messed up and had leaked a bit) golden yellow with some hazyness- very light ad almost was the color of a light hefe or a berlinner- yeast in suspension with a thin lasting white head. Aroma is tart with citruc acid- lemon and lim ein there- a bit floral with a lemon sweet-tart candy or maybe even those smarties candies. Some dough and hay in the flavor then grassy and more citrusy tartness- more lemon zest and artificial fake sour candies. As it warms some of the funky sourness turns to just a funky stinkiness. Tart and mildly refreshing finish. Pretty good overall, and a lot easier to enjoy and drink than the 55.
