Idiosynkrasie (3574) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - MAY 31, 2014
750ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, golden colour with huge, frothy, fully lasting, moderately lacing, white head. Fruity hoppy aroma has hints of apricot and peach, hints of rye, vegetable, unripe pear, spicy yeasty overtones. Taste is fruity, hints of apricot and peach, minimally peppery, spicy yeasty overtones; subtle tartness. Soft, gentle, micro pored, nevertheless sustainable carbonation for excellent palate. Superbly balanced, thoughtful crafted.

Odeur de citron frais, zeste et blé. Très pâle, mousse persistante. Mince en bouche, pas d’arrière goût agressif. Très rafraichissant, bien équilibrés et arômes subtiles mais complexe.

Dobre pyszne i pelne smaku i aromatu. Doskonale odzwierciedlone piwo Saison w stylu Belgijskim. Mnostwo piany trwalej i pieknym metnym ciemno zlocistym kolorem. Zyto takze zostawilo tu sporo osadu. Spore kawaleczki plywaly na dnie pokala. Po dolaniu calej metnosci piwo zrobilo sie szarawo pomaranczowe. W smaku dodatkowo chlebowo drozdzowe. Nieco cytrusowosci. Orzezwiajace i przyjemne w piciu. Brak goryczki ale nie byla potrzebna w tym przypadku.

Earthy, yet the sweet overtones brought this delightful saison to a rare complexity. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Ça sent bon et frais...Une vrai Saison! Un beau corps pétillant, juste comme il faut : cette bière a du charme! En bouche, c’est également frais, ça goûte un peu les céréales, un peu les fruits. Une excellente Saison!

Ernest (6142) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - SEP 24, 2013
Bottle (6.5% ABV, brewed May 2013). Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is hazy medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly to moderately hoppy (flowers, herbs), lightly yeasty (cobwebs), with notes of gum, lemon zest, pepper, hint of spearmint. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Whoa, baby! Ok, so this is a Saison Dupont clone, there should be absolutely no debate about that. It’s not quite as aromatically vibrant/complex (obviously not as phenolic), and the finish is not as balanced/bitter as Dupont, but otherwise this is a fantastic rendition. It’s very clean, and offers a fantastic fluffy mouthfeel. Alas, the matter of price is where the glowing words must end...at the same store here in Boulder, this beer is $15 compared to Dupont at $9. So...Dupont is better...and *substantially* cheaper. So explain to me why I would ever buy this again?

TwoSipDip (8880) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - SEP 16, 2013
Bottle @ home picked up at Wilbur’s Fort Collins. Pours a hazy golden orange appearance with a cream colored head. Spicy herbal yeasty, quite rustic, peppercorn, banana, lemon aroma. Lightly tart, peppery/chewy/bready yeasty, moderately dry, dull lemon citrusy flavor. A lot of dry, grassy, herbal notes. Fun to drink.

Bottle. Effervescent and lightly hazed honey-colored body with a fine white head. Very Dupont-like nose. Citrus fruit, sugar / sugar cookie, peppercorns and phenols. Hoppier and sharper and closer to the recent Cuvée dry hopped batch. There’s a difficult to identify aroma that’s something like orange juice pulp, aromatic hop cones and bathsoap... it really seems to be the key to why the aroma works so well here. Medium body with soft and creamy carbonation, lots of tart, dried fruits, a silky, creamy but frothy and filling yeast character with natural carbonation to give it softness. Astonishing tartness and dryness in a beer that seemingly smells sugary and fruity. Crisp, quenching acid, medium+ bitterness, low sweetness, good acid, quaffable and flavorful. Mild hints of alcohol emerge after it breathes and warms.
