20100814 tap at max’s. Aroma is white glue, dirty sock, apple, American cheese. Weird weird stuff. Plum and pale cherry. No idea how to assess this one, frankly. Flavor has light sweetness and good though surprising acidity. Sweet-tart. Meh, I’m not loving it.

Bottle: Poured a cloudy dirty beige color ale with a huge light dirty brown color head with great retention and some very good lacing. Aroma of funk and farmyard is quite intense with some light apricot and some light spices. Taste is quite complex to describe though yeast is properly the main component that produces a very funky taste with light fruit notes of apricot and candy. Body is full with limited filtration and great carbonation. Very well brewed and somewhat disappointed that I can’t find this more easily.

Tap at Vices et Versa MTL. Very tart and fruity, surprising, almost a Flemish sour. Tart apricot and tang of citrus, aroma vaguely earthy.

Draft at monks. Pours an orange body with slight haze. Aroma is strong yeast and wheat. Mouthfeel is entirely smooth with notes of wheat, yeast, spice, coriander, lemon, and apple.

UPDATED: SEP 1, 2013 On tap at Vice & Versa, july 19. Slight haze on this golden-orange pour, with absolutely no head. Nose is funky, lactic, apples and barnyard. Medium body, almost totally flat, nice lemony flavors backed by some funkiness but it finishes a bit hollow and sweet. Something milky, lactic in the end. Not bad, but would have been really better with some carbonation.
31st august update : tap at Bieres & Saveurs, aged version. Wow, what a contrast with my previous rating. Nice funkyness with light brett presence, body is thinner, dryer, than previous sample. Super interesting bretty saison character. Loved this one with aging!

Draft. Cloudy apple juice body with off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, rye, melon, some ginger, funk. Taste is moderately sweet, tropical fruit, some sour, funk, rye. Light-medium body, some creaminess.

Sampled at Max’s in Baltimore. Pours a transparent orange amber with very little cloudy white head. Aroma is floral, herbal, sugary. Flavor is sweet, malty, oranges, tropical fruits, passion fruit. Finish is full bodied, sweet.

On draught. Light copper cloudy pour with a generous off white head. Aroma of citrus fruit and that distinct farmhouse aroma. Great taste of yeast, citrus, and barnyard funk with a sharp finish.

Draught at Churchkey, recommendation from Sam. Clear orange, white edge head, good lacing. Aroma is sour orange peel and bubblegum, very nice. Taste is disappointing, sour start followed by unbalanced sweet bitterness. Oh well.
