3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 GuillaumeCL (319) - Toronto, Ontario, - FEB 15, 2013Pours a hazy dark yellow-brown with a small amount of white head that lingers for a while. Smell is fairly sweet, with some vanilla, some spice, and maybe a hint of funk. Palate is medium bodied with good carbonation. Taste is a bit weird, this is much more of a tripel than a belgian saison. Quite sweet at first then follows with a bit of bitter and a bit of sour, the aftertaste is slightly better and balanced with sweetness. Interesting overall, but not really what I think when I hear "rye saison."
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 fiulijn (12360) - Malmö, DENMARK - JUN 8, 2013
Bottle from Elizabeth St., Bellingham Hazy golden color; small head. The aroma is a bit plastic, some sweat, and light spices. Dry mouthfeel; mid-spicy flavor, but also some vegetables; ordinary bitterness; a bit of metallic feeling in the end. Not exciting.

Pour is a hazy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is sweet honey and barnyard. Flavor is a decent fresh fruit with some white wine and vinegar. Finish is bone dry and a little tart. No real mustiness or pepper which I like in a saison are found. This was tart and sweet. Found in a bargan bin for 7 bucks.

Poured from a 750ml bottle. This is a very yeast driven saison. Fruity, banana, some rustic yeasty farmhouse qualities. A good beer, but not that great of a saison.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 dandeman (230) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - APR 24, 2013
from a 750ml bottle bought at Peluso in Montreal.
Aroma: cereal and grain with little lemony accents and Candi sugar.
Appearance: Hazy blond / straw developing an average thickness head, creamy and long lasting. Head is sticking well to glass leaving a good lacing.
Taste: We can well feel the Belgium yeast doing the work here with peppery and acid notes. Hops are at work also, leaving a floral bitterness that last for a long time. Acidity and bitterness are the main characteristics of this beer. Flavor notes are light but mainly Candi sugar, pepper, grain and cereal. A farm taste with a slight acidity. A good traditional season within style.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Johnsense (467) - - MAR 30, 2013
Cloudy gold pour, huge head. Aroma of funk, cloves, very yeasty. Taste is reminiscent of a tripel, belgian yeast, clove, slight pepper, banana, saison barnyard funk. Fairly tart. Getting lots of rye as well. Medium body. I’ll call is a saison hybrid, and one thats very refreshing after a long day of runnng errands.
