3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Savvy1982 (1310) - Lethbridge, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 8, 2012
Bottle, thanks to Phil. Bottle positively GUSHES when opened. Basically a beer volcano! Saved nearly all of it, but goddamn... Once it settles down, it pours a very cloudy gree-golden/orange, almost the colour of orange juice but with a green cast. Head is VERY thick, and quite persistent. Nose is pepper, hay, yeasty/funky lemon/citrus, some spicy mineral here. Really bright and lifted with the grass, spice, and citrus being very balanced. Flavours of Spicy (hoppy?) and soapy lemon and massive grass notes here. A bit bready in the middle (goes from grain to grass to bread and back to grass). Nice splash of yeasty citrus and a rolling creaminess. At first I thought this was a bit pedestrian, but it has really grown on me.

Bottle shared at a recent BA/RB tasting... Poured pale, golden yellow with a white head. Nice spice and yeast tones with citrus and earthiness. Some acidic puckering qualities which were nice and refreshing.

Liquide de couleur blond et trouble. Beau collet tenace. Les arômes végétales resortent du verre. En bouche, l’amertume des houblons résineux sont dominants mais l’acidité typique d’une saison est bien présent. Très bonne bière.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 GarnotingPete (318) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 8, 2011
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Chaseman (49) - Massachusetts, USA - AUG 4, 2011
Some citrus smells, not much happening with its appearance. However, it is quite a tasty and complex saison. Very subtle sour notes, crisp finish. An excellent beer!

Bottle courtesy of SFLpunk. Served in a Russian River TION glass.
Pours a somewhat-cloudy golden peach color with a good white head and a nice collar throughout. The nose brings a bit of earth an funk along with a slight acidic presence. Wine-like with a bit of acidity. The flavor is nice as well, combining traditional saison yeast character with some wine flavors and a bit of fruit. Light funk and acidity throughout, leading to a dry finish. Light to medium body and high carbonation. Quite enjoyable.
