3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Taster, at Hoptoberfest, Volstead. I quite liked the NZ character given to the beer. Nice and fruity tones (fresh tropical fruit, as opposed to the more ripe, autumn fruits in the cellar, from Belgian ales).

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Good clarity with a white head with typically Belgian aromas - marmite, cellar, cloves and this is manifest in the flavour. Good sweet doughy mouthfeel and lipsmacking caramels. This beer is an excellent exemplar of its style.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
a rather clashing combination of typical pale ale flavours with belgian yeasts and sugar. didn’t really mix together perfectly but it wasn’t unpleasant either.
