3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Clear golden color with a medium, white and foamy, lacy head. Slightly sweet, honeyish aroma with grassy hops and some acidity. Grassy-hoppy, moderately bitter, very clean flavor with licorice hints in the finish. Quite light-bodied, crisp and refreshing palate with high but still quite balanced carbonation. A clean, refreshing and balanced pils. Basic, but enjoyable.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 17/20
0.25L bottle. Pours clear golden with a thin, white head. Really nice aromas: honey malt, resiny and herby hops, Moderate cereal grain sweetness at beginning, with both honey and nut flavors. Morphs into really nice herby and spruce hop flavor. Mild sweetness lingers throughout, with a pretty mellow, resiny hop linger. Light body with a thin mouthfeel and average carbonation. Overall, a really tasty pils with nice malt character, and really well balanced hop flavors.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Standard lager made for De Hopduvel in Ghent, with stable, cream white head and deep golden blonde, clear colour. Pure, bit honeyish malt sweetness in the nose, bit metallic, greenish peppery and flowery hops; same for the taste, pure malts, sweetish, ending in a relatively long, hop bitter finish, more so than usual in this style in Belgium. If Van Steenberge only made their Sparta Pils on this level.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Blonde claire, effervescence moyenne, col blanc fin. Après un petit citronnée plutôt agréable et hélas un peu de métal, une amertume houblonnée et herbeuse s’installe rapidement donnant ici une pils amère supérieure.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
APPEARANCE: clear blond beer, small stable white head.
NOSE: grains, some fruits, even some hops there, little metallic though.
TASTE: hops noticeable, metallic again, some herbs and citrus there.
Not bad for a pilsener, but a pilsener...

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
25 cl bottle from Drankencentrale Hopduvel in Ghent. Bought in october 2011 so this is a bit aged. Very bready smell, also fruity and flowery with a hint of honey. Similar taste. Light body and easy to drink. I’m quite surprised of the low ratings as I quite enjoyed this one.
