Hoppers 38 Special

Draft... Sparkling clear, deep, textbook amber ale with a small, quickly dissipating head. The nose is of fuzzy fruit, yellow apple, banana, wood, smoke, dry-white sherry and red wine. A hint of mint. The malty, syrupy, boozy flavor is quite warming with additional notes of red wine, brandy and caramel. Ultra full-bodied with an oily mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Finishes syrupy sweet and then woodsy and dry. A real sipper!

Huge aroma of bubblegum and spun sugar. Golden to amber color with a very thin head and minimal carbonation. More bubblegum in the flavor. Alcohol flavor is there, but extremely well masked for 20% abv. A touch of hops in the finish and more of that bublegum flavor. Very unusual beer. Never had anything quite like this flavor.
