3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Shared bomber poured to snifters, showing an opaque, black/brown color, with a presentable & fairly persistent layer of brownish tan head foam, and clingy spots & streaks of lacing. The aroma was roasted and sweet, with some light grain, and notes of treacle, caramel, and chocolate. Medium bodied, with modest carbonation, the taste was similar notes as the nose, adding some presence of alcohol, moderate, earthy, and lingering bitterness, a sticky & syrupy texture, yet a bit of creaminess to smooth the mouthfeel.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
@Basunen: stor doft av chockad. Smaken är ganska snäll med en liten beska och viss syrlighet.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Poured from a bottle 16 months old. Aroma is chocolate and some hops. Appearance is a dark brown allowing no light to pass, with a 2 finger tan head. Taste is a smooth semi sweet chocolate with roasted malt and some dark fruits. Palate is very smooth and viscous. Overall an excellent beer much better in my opinion than it was when fresh 16 months ago.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured from a bomber aged 16 months into a Hoppin Frog snifter almost black with a thick tan head. Beautiful sight.
Aroma is roasted chocolate smells very rich.
Flavor is thick sweet cocoa. Smooth. Some coffee. A bit of hops. Malty
Extremely well done blend here. Had well over a year ago and thought was too grassy. WIth some age this is quite the beauty.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle: Thanks, Kevin! Silky black body, looks pretty thick & viscous; slowly rising, micro-bubble tan-mocha head sits chunky on top. Aroma has notes of mocha & bitter chocolate, bitter roast, & a light undercurrent of sweet cream. Equal parts anise & boozy licorice show up, too, almost akin to Jagermeister. Finish of dates & roast in the back-end. Taste includes bitter cocoa powder, mocha chocolates, roasted malt, & a slight floral twinge mid-palate (assuming this is from the hops?). Aftertaste is more dark-fruity with notes of prunes & figs; relatively sweet finish compared to the bitterness of the front end. Slight boozy & mild acetone-like notes with warmth, surprising for only being 7.8% ABV. Decent brew, though there’s no reason to ever choose this over BORIS.
