U.S Meets Europe S.I.P.A. - Collaborating with De Molen Brewery in the "Green Heart" of The Netherlands, we have created a wild and inventive recipe that is a unique blend of the best from both worlds! A super-charged Saison I.P.A. is born, featuring kilos of American hops to add a crazy twist to this European-style ale. The fruity, spicy flavors of this malty Double Saison are nicely complimented by an abundance of late and dry-hopping with the finest American hops.

UPDATED: MAR 9, 2014 Bottle: Completely muddled rustic copper with a beige head that reduces to a ring in moments. Aroma is sweet fruit juice, grapefruit flesh, juicy and gushing, grass, and some faint spicy esters on the back. Some toffee malt, too. Taste is extremely sweet. Sticky toffee and sugar crusted grapefruit flesh, juicy oranges, some mid-palate perfume and light hops, touch of pineapple in the finish. Flavors aren’t bad but this is a little too sweet. Not much of a saison or IPA, either... Huge, sticky body, light bitterness, but mostly sweet. Would be more acceptable as an American Barleywine, but also has that "old, huge, sticky DIPA" kind of vibe.

Hazy deep amber beer with a good pale cream coloured head. Nose of generic fruits sherbet and malt cream. Palate is smooth and viscous with fine carbonation. Smooth malt cream supports pleasant generic fruit sherbet, gets zingy before turning slightly yeasty bitter. Mild minerals before a smooth finish. Fruity aftertaste. Unusual and tasty beer.

22 ounce bottle. It pours a slightly hazy orange/amber color with about a half inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both good. The aroma is very sweet and spicy, it smells like citrusy hops (tropical fruit, grapefruit), sweet oranges, caramel, and Belgian yeast. The taste is also mostly sweet and spicy, the brew tastes like caramel, citrusy hops, toffee, sweet spices, oranges, and a bit of peppery spice. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s creamy and slick with moderate carbonation. Overall, very different and very interesting.

Bottle from Bierkompass.de, March 2013. A bit hazy amber with a white head. Aroma of orange, some soap, light spiced and some wood. About the same in the taste. Also some marmelade and alcohol. Drinkable but nothing spectacular.
