In a collaboration with Fanø Brewery on Fano Island in Denmark, we created an Imperial Stout recipe to satisfy our own deepest desires. Brewing it on this picturesque summertime vacation island is how Natasha started, and of course we couldn’t wait to brew it at Hoppin’ Frog! The result is Natasha Rocks America - a rich, hoppy Imperial Stout with the deep-roasted, smooth flavor of Chocolate Rye malt. And, Natasha is generously dry-hopped with the perfect mix of select American hops, adding a great hop character to this super-tasty Imperial Stout collaboration brew.

22 aug 2013, bottle. Dark brown/black. Nose is oatmeal, chocolate malt, mild alcohol, a bit meaty. Med body and mildly fizzy. Oatmeal, chocolate malt, mild alcohol, a bit meaty. Definitely interesting. Not sure if I’d call it an imperial stout though. Maybe a foreign extra.

Bøttle. Black with a small diminishing light brown head. Hoppy nose; peach, light citrus with some chocolate and vanilla. Aroma follows with sweet roast, chocolate and vanilla with plenty of fruity hops/perfumy similar to Hoppin’ Frogs ipas and shit. Reminds me a bit of Hopped Up Goose Juice, actually. Rye bread notes becomes more apparent the more I drink of this. Medium sweet and bitter, long lasting bitter finish with roasted notes. Somewhere between black ipa and stout.

Bottle: Deep brown, nearly black, moderate beige head, decent lacing.   Sweet roasted malts, coffee on the nose.   More hop than the Fano version.   Similar on the tongue.   Some graham cracker too.   Moderate sweetness, slightly astringent.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Slightly dry on the finish, roasty, lingering coffee.   Fairly good, and similar to fano, but not as sweet and roasy, slightly more acrid and hoppy.   Thanks Kevin!
