4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bomber. Pours a nice black with a thick khaki head that leaves an incredible lace on the glass. The aroma is very hoppy on the immediate nose, with a strong chocolate finish and a good amount of roasted malt. The taste is in an opposite order. The beginning is a nice roasted chocolate on the front end, that fades into a little rye spiciness. The finish is a little dry, but it's a solid stout

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Black pour with a brown head. Aroma is hops with a little rye in the background. Toast is roasted malt, rye, hops, a little sweetness. Roasted malt aftertaste. Great lacing. A little weak in alcohol for an Imperial in my opinion.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz bottle shared by Brett, with Colleen. If you ever wanted a "too much going on" but still hits all the good notes type of beer, this is it.. nose is chocolate and hops mixed, followed by a taste which yields spicy rye notes, finishing with sweeter chocolate notes and lingering hop bitterness... totally out there, but cool idea.
pour is pitch black with a milk chocolate head.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Deep black pour with a thin foamy khaki head. Aroma is very hopped, like a hop cooler at a brewery in terms of aroma--so much hop profile going on, from spicy grassy to juicy grapefruit and floral grassy--but also a deep roastiness with a a nutty undertone, and the slightest hint of java. Flavor is large and bold, though not syrupy like I feared. Lots of stout roastiness and hop bitterness, almost like a BIPA, until the middle and finish when in comes a bittersweet cocoa tone, with morning rye toast and a kiss of roasty coffee. Not too bitter, but that’s probably well hidden by the roastiness and darkness..because there’s a ton of hop flavor, like on the nose. Floral, grassy, earthy, citrusy, piney...It’s like a great IPA mixed with a great stout.
