COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In a collaboration with Fanø Brewery on Fano Island in Denmark, we created an Imperial Stout recipe to satisfy our own deepest desires. Brewing it on this picturesque summertime vacation island is how Natasha started, and of course we couldn’t wait to brew it at Hoppin’ Frog! The result is Natasha Rocks America - a rich, hoppy Imperial Stout with the deep-roasted, smooth flavor of Chocolate Rye malt. And, Natasha is generously dry-hopped with the perfect mix of select American hops, adding a great hop character to this super-tasty Imperial Stout collaboration brew.

Very nice spicy rye notes, with just a touch of roast behind it. Pours an opaque black with a full light brown head. The flavor is very rye heavy, with a bitter hop finish. The roasted notes just come back at the very end of the finish. Slightly thin mouthfeel, but a very long lingering finish. Quite a tasty beer if you like rye and hops.

Thanks to the kind soul who shared this at the recent Tampa Crew Tasting. Pours a stout brown with a tan head. Nose is roast, cocoa, coffee, and piney hops. Flavor is similar with roast, cocoa, coffee, some piney hops and toast. Flavor is similar with earthy roast and toast in the finish with bits of pine.

This beer pours brownish-black with a medium foamy tan head that diminishes steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, malt and rye. Medium-bodied with flavors of roasted malt, dark chocolate, herbal hops and rye. The finish is roasty with a malt and coffee aftertast

22 ounce bottle
The bubbly mocha head and oily black base look the part of a convincing imperial stout. This is in the ballpark of BORIS, which is to say not an over the top ultra high gravity sipper. Still, take your time and savor what is a good collaboration that has me looking forwards to the next time I get to try some Hoppin’ Frog.

Aroma / Appearance - The mocha head is bubbly and pert. Underneath a black oily base rests as it sticks to the sides of the glass. Chocolate, rye malt, and smoky textures provide depth to a well balanced beer that also has a nice hop bite. Sweet edges round out an excellent aroma.

Flavor / Palate - Chocolate and rye sweeten the palate. This is very heavy on the rye but it doesn’t feel unbalanced. The finish hangs in the throat just long enough to enjoy without overstaying its welcome. Overall this is a worthy release from a brewery such as Hoppin’ Frog.

Bomber from Proof bottle shop. Black pour with a khaki head and tight sheets of lacing. Aroma is pine, roasty and grapefruit. Tastes are chocolate malt, rye, citrus, pine, gin, spices, coffee. Almost comes off as a black ipa. Thin slick palate.

Poirs pitch black with a small mocha head. Huge rye and hop aroma, some citrus, and heavy malt sweet smell. Big up front rye bitter that fades into bittersweet chocolate. Big heavy mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Rye spice lingers. Dry finish. Reminds me a lot of CCB Double Black, but heavier on the rye and lighter on the sweet citrus. Neat beer. The body says impu stout, but the dry hopping really makes this closer to a black DIPA, as does the ABV. If you go into it knowing you aren’t getting Dark Lord, this is very nicely done.

Bottled. Pitch black color, short brown head. Lovely big aroma of roasted malts, chocolat and coffee. There’s some grainy rye present, as well as some fruity american hop. All in good balance. Quite fruity bitter taste with plenty of sweetness from the malts to back it up. Smooth chocolate in the finish as well as big hoppy bitterness. Very hoppy big stout.
