Bottle @ Steve’s house. Thanks Armin! Pours a deep orangish brown appearance with a thin tan head. A bit chalky, dark chocolate, Oaty, caramel aroma. Kind of aggressive carbonation. Dark chocolate. Caramel, toffee, vanilla. A bit of cola. Solid but nothing special.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Black pour with a reddish brown head. Chocolate, butter, nuts, and smooth whiskey are what make this beer delightful.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
A nice surprise bottle share. Pours an inky jet black, some dark brown head. Nose of rich dark chocolate, toast, unmistakable irish whiskey, that clean buttery and almost citric stuff, hinting at soy and worcestershire. Nicely sweet, quite bitter. Like velvet, thick, oily, viscous, finishing long with dark chocolate and triple-distilled whiskey. Very nice, an interesting twist on barrel aging. Made for a nice treat.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz. bottle, sent from Glouglouburp (thanks a lot, Dany), pours a viscous black with a small tan / brown head. Nose brings out loads of whisky, roasted malt, caramel and cocoa. Flavour is rich and thick, with roasted malt, whisky, dry cocoa, and wood. Super complex, viscous on the palate, and fairly dry. Rich and decadent - drinkable in smaller amounts. Excellent.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz. bottle via local trade. Pours an opaque brown with a small tan head that leaves a lasting ring and a few spots of lace. Aroma of dark and milk chocolate, oak, molasses, marshmallow, earth, and warming Irish whiskey. Flavor of chocolate, marshmallow, coconut, molasses, vanilla, oak, burnt toast, and tobacco. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a rich, smooth mouthfeel that finishes dry and roasty. Nice barrel treatment. Not my top BORIS but another fine entry in the series.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Dark brown pour with a tan head. The aroma is very nice. I get some great chocolate and whiskey notes as well as some woody oak notes. The flavor is also very nice. The whiskey notes go well with the imperial stout base beer. The oak is fairly light but complements the other notes well. The alcohol is also present. Thick mouthfeel and medium carbonation. As always, B.O.R.I.S. didn’t disappoint.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pour from bottle thanks to Sean. Pours black with a small foamy head that fades to a small stubborn ring. Aromas are chocolate fudge, whiskey, toffee, oats, and wood. Taste is awesome. Like smooth, creamy chocolate booze cake. Almost a dessert stout but the sweetness is fairly mild and there are nice burnt notes to hold it together. Mouthfeel is somehow creamy and oily at the same time. Very good stout.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from a trade poured into a Belgian snifter. Pours a motor oily consistency, jet black color with almost a finger of tan head. Not really any lacing. Aromas of Jameson whiskey, coconut, dark chocolate, vanilla. On the taste, a good amount of Jameson whiskey notes, dark chocolate, oak, roast, dark fruit. Barrel notes held up very well considering it’s around 10 months old. Oily mouthfeel and low carbonation. Full body with a dry and warm boozy finish. Pretty enjoyable if you like Irish whiskey and BORIS, I do enjoy the regular bourbon barrel aged BORIS a bit more though.
