4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
(22 oz. bottle via trade with pantanap, thanks Kan!) Inky-looking as it pours, very dark almost dark purplish brown. Thin, almost purplish brown head. Aroma of big very dark, rich molasses and port, along with chocolate, coffee, brown sugar, bourbon, wood, licorice? - lotsa stuff, all good. Palate is silky smooth and rich. Light webby lacing and a syrupy film. Flavor of very dark molasses, port, chocolate, coffee, light wood and bourbon - pretty much all the stuff in the aroma. Rich and meaty. Kinda hot and finishes with some grassiness, which is a bit detracting. Still a complex, tasty, rich and pretty well put together Imp Stout.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz bottle shared at the DC Local tasting. Pours an opaque black with only a little misty, tan head. Boozy, woody aroma, coffee, molasses. Flavor is KILLER: brown sugar, molasses, breads, sweet, hot, vanilla. A little too hot on the end. May be just a touch young. I think this will definitely get better.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
bomber. Initial pour is like used motor oil thick creamy tan head that disipated quickly. aroma is very stong musty wood, vanilla and sort of bready. Flavor much like the aroma, malty sweetness, vanilla, smoke and wood and some mustiness that i cant put my finger on strong whiskey bite finish. Good. But not great. I dont the barrel aged as good as the original.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber. pours almost black with a brown head. Aroma of vanilla, molasses, musty wood, and coffee. Flavor has a slight musty fruity tartness that I donít get in the regular BORIS. I almost think that the oak barrel aging is overdone. While a very solid beer, in my opinion, it pales compared to the standard BORIS. Strange, with some, such as Great Dived Yeti, I prefer the oak-aged, but with others, such as FFF Dark Lord, I prefer the regular variety. This definitely falls into the latter category. It reminds me of walking into a really old wooden building or covered bridge, musty wood overload. It is good, just not exactly what I desired considering how fantastic B.O.R.I.S. the Crusher is. I know, Iím nitpicking, but at this level and price, it had better be spectacular.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Very black colored brew. Aroma has got hints of whiskey, nice. Flavor is dark chocolate, bourbon, syrup, malts. Itís smooth, but thin and maybe lacks of something outstanding. Maybe itís the oatmeal. Itís a bit too drinkable.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottled 65cl. It pours a pitch black beer with a small deep beige head. A lot of dark chocolate and vanilla showing up in the taste. Christmas pudding, oak, plum, bourbon and mint sneaking in. Great smooth mouthfeel. Good balance. Very low carbonation. Very powerful on the swallow which is peppery, leading to a finish which is sublime; dry, reminiscent of dark chocolate, mint, oak, vanilla and nasturcium. A top notch imperial stout. I reveled in every sip. (Comparing this beer side by side with the regular Boris the Crusher.)
