COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Made from our award-winning imperial stout, rated one of the top 50 best beers in the world in 2008. This bodacious oatmeal Russian imperial stout will crush you like no other. This is the grand-daddy of all stout styles, with an intensely deep roasted and full bodied flavor. A robust hop character adds a refreshing balance. Aged in Heaven Hill Whiskey barrels.

Bottle. Body-still, inky, dark cola brown with a razor thin ring of bubbles. Nose-cardboard, raisin, unami. Taste-silky smooth mouthfeel, unsweet raisin, oatmeal is definitely there, soy, oatmeal raisin cookies, coffee, Fig Newtons.

600ml bottle served in a snifter. A: Pours a deep brown to black color forming a small thin tan head which dissipates quite quickly leaving only few spotty lacings S: Great nose. Very woody and whiskey. Intense roasted malts. Dark chocolate. Notes of caramel and caramel malts. Molasses. Light notes of alcohol in the very end T: Sweet roasted malts upfront. Intense wood flavors. Dark chocolate, coffee beans, brown bread. Toffee, molasses, caramel and caramel malts. Hoppy but mainly roasted bitter end M: Heavy creamy and molasses body. Low carbonation. Woody, sweet, bitter and roasted aftertaste O: Great drinkability. Excellent imperial stout. Recommend [ BA Review @ 3/1/2013 ]

October 12, 2014 - 2011 bottle from Binnys. Black pour with limited tan head. Aroma was strong whiskey, sweet malt and some roast. Taste was consistent with aroma, a nice balance of heat and sweetness with a slight roast and bitter finish.

F A N T A S T I C!!! The one I tasted had been stored for about 5 years. Absolutely one of the best beers I have ever tasted! "I have had wines with more carbonic acid than this" a guy said while tasting this beer. Also, you can really taste that it's been aged in whisky barrels. All this makes it a fantastic wi... beer! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, received as an extra in a trade. Deep brown with a small khaki head. Aroma of rich fudge cake. Toffee and booze. Burnt brown sugar. Decadent chocolate dessert all over this. Flavor is marked by whiskey, wood. Boozy heat. Ashy roast malt. Fudge. Nice and supple. Viscous. Good stuff.
