Bottle. Very dark with thin mocha head. Smells very sweet like bourbon with sugar added plus roasty. Flavor follows. Dry bitter finish, not too heavy- a tad boozy.

Really?!? 20$ for this! Taste is mediocre at best. Lets begin. Pour looks just like normal Boris but head fizzes away faster. Notes on the nose are caramel, toffee, smoke and barely any bourbon. Taste pretty much follows the nose with no surprise whatsoever. Pass this bottle up and get something better.

Barrel Boris A - pours opaque deep dark cola with 1 finger espresso head with no retention. S - strangely enough this smells like bourbon and Boris. The bourbon notes with vanilla , molasses and toffee first. Burnt Toasted malts, chalk and earthy chocolate come next. Quiet hints of cola, vegetal malts and raw cacao. Tangy. As it warms it smells sweeter, like chocolate cake batter. M - light medium body. Dry and lightly bitter end. Sweet and relatively complex. T - lightly metallic and minerally. sweet notes of chocolate cake batter, molasses, brown sugar and toffee head the taste. Vegetal malts, charred oak and bourbon linger in the palate, to a lightly bitter hop burn. The end is all bourbon and cake batter with a touch of black licorice. O - much better than Boris! Sweeter more complex smother. 4.0

Black, beige head, Smell association to honey, licorice, and port wine. Taste: medium bitterness, and medium sweetness. Awesome..

Shared this one four ways on my deck. Not a ton of whiskey flavor or aroma, which allows the oats to still have their place.

Black really thick beer with very little head. Some roastiness, chocolaty sweetness, very soft and silky mouthfeel and nice bitter hops on the finish.

Possibly a 2009 bottle found in a dark corner at work. Pour is pitch black with a quickly dissipating mocha head. Lots of bourbon and vanilla on the nose, there’s some oak and rich dark chocolate, toasty malt and caramel, and some faint dark fruit notes. Some velvety chocolate notes up front on the taste, lots of bourbon and vanilla, oak, coffee, toasted malt, and molasses. Awesomely balanced, great barrel characteristics that don’t suffocate the rest of the beer.

22 ounce bottle. Thanks Tim! Pours black with a smallish tan head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, whiskey, and vanilla. Taste is coffee, whiskey, dark chocolate, malt, caramel, wood, and vanilla. Complex for sure. Amazingly good!

On tap @CBC13. Midnight black with tiny tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, molasses, syrup, wood notes and chocolate. Taste is like the aroma. Very, very sweet
