Made from our award-winning imperial stout, rated one of the top 50 best beers in the world in 2008. This bodacious oatmeal Russian imperial stout will crush you like no other. 2010 bottle. Deep black body, small khaki head forms upon initial pour, quickly receds. Thin collar, no lacing. Nose is roasted malts, light oak and whiskey, some chocolate, and coffee as well. Flavor is similar, with the whiskey flavor intensifying (although not adding much in the way of boozy heat). Full bodied, not overly thick, nice roasted, lightly bitter finish. A very nice barrel aged stout.

neuromatt (1016) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 6, 2014
22 oz bottle, served in a snifter next to the base. Pours oily black with a small tan head that fades to a thin remnant and leaves a small amount of fine lace. The nose has huge notes of vanilla, oak and whiskey, along with espresso, chocolate, molasses and subtle tobacco smoke. The flavour is moderately sweet with roasty malts, vanilla, oak and chocolate. Notes of espresso and tobacco are also present, but muted under the prominent barrel notes. On the palate it is full in body with a velvety smooth texture and soft carbonation. Overall this is a very nice, elegant imperial stout with impressive vanilla, oak and whiskey character. 2014-04-03

22 oz. bottle. Pours pitch black (not even a hint of color when held up to the light), with a medium, thick, tan head. Bitter chocolate, vanilla, oak, whiskey, coffee, and molasses. Very sweet, with a little burnt bitterness. Heavy body, sticky, syrupy, and sticky. A slightly warming finish. Overall, this is a thick, delicious stout. Great bourbon notes, with a good, chocolate and coffee backbone. Light bitterness that doesn’t distract too much. This is a tasty, and relatively approachable stout.

Bomber into a snifter to assist in snow shoveling. Black as night pour with minimal brown head. Aroma of rich dark chocolate, roasted malts, coffee grounds, and vanilla. Taste is similar with a hint of oak and whiskey. Super thick and coating.

YigSvartka (45) - Manitoba, CANADA - FEB 1, 2014
UPDATED: APR 7, 2014 Thick, heavy looking beer, with little head. Dark roast dominates the aroma. Tastes just as it looks. Extremely strong, heavy, sticky, roast, sweet chocolate, and prominent alcohol. Very intense flavour. Very good, but unfortunately not a favourite as I was hoping.

Bottle from Hoppin Frog thanks to artmcd8. Poured black with decent tan head that dissipates. Aroma of choc vanilla bourbon. Light carb heavy bod. Taste is very bourbon forward that coats the tongue.

Must be the 2012 version with a white cap. Boozy and chocolaty on the aroma. Smooth, sweet. Looks insane. Pours thick and black with a super dark head. Taste is smooth and chocolaty finish is little aggressive but not too bad with the booziness. Palate is great except the finish which is a little aggressive. Overall a very nice imperial stout. Doesn’t have the acidity of others.

Refrigerated brown bomber with gold cap. Pours black with small dark brown highlights and very small beige head. Aroma is complex barrel, medium body, low carbonation, and Taste is roasty, oak, whisky, oat malt, soy sauce, some herbal hops, some vanilla, and dryer finish. One of the best imperial stouts I have had.
