2010 bottle. Deep black body, small khaki head forms upon initial pour, quickly receds. Thin collar, no lacing. Nose is roasted malts, light oak and whiskey, some chocolate, and coffee as well. Flavor is similar, with the whiskey flavor intensifying (although not adding much in the way of boozy heat). Full bodied, not overly thick, nice roasted, lightly bitter finish. A very nice barrel aged stout.

22 oz provided by Adrien. Vintage we think is 2013. The tan head with some lasting spotty lace. Aroma is bold Heaven Hill whiskey to boot!
The bourbon is pretty bold through out the sip. The body is for sure thinner then Doris. FYI, compare this right after the standard Doris and BBA Doris. This is a tad thinner in the mouth yet the flavor is still damn nice. Oak, vanilla, with light charred chocolate, and again with the mild brownie batter note. Gosh damn, another fine BBA RIS.

Bottle shared by Adrien, thanks! Aroma is molasses, vanilla, a touch of whiskey. Whiskey is all over the taste, with vanilla and oak as well. Starts with chocolate, then whiskey and oak, then comes sweet vanilla, and finally more whiskey and oak I the finish.

Bottle. Pours black, with a mocha head. Aroma is dark malts, with burned oak and very sweet coffee. Full body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is burned malts, with muscovado, tobacco and oak, giving dark fruity tobacco notes in the finish.

Yes! BORIS in a barrel. I would definitely sleep with this beer. The already legendary BORIS with a healthy dose of wood and ... bourbon? Not sure if I’m just getting wood or a little carmelly sweetness from the bourbon as well.

Das Bier ist total schwarz und es hat eine schöne kompakte bräunliche Schaumkrone. Geruch intensiv röstmalzig, viel Kaffee, Vanille und Holz. Geschmack sehr weich, viel Vanille, Schokolade, Kaffee, sahnig, total geniales Bier.

22 oz bottle poured into a snifter. Green cap, purchased around mid-2014 so I assume it’s either 2013 or 2014 rather than 2009. Black with thin tan head to ring. Aromas of whiskey, dark chocolate, light caramel and dark fruit, some booze. Tastes of dark chocolate, bourbon, light oak, subtle dark fruit, oats. Full body with a dry and slightly warm finish. Alcohol is very well masked. Delicious and very well-balanced.

Bomber, tulip. Black, not much head. A - wood, bread, vanilla, whiskey. T - bitter chocolate, whiff of coffee, wood. Dryer than bourbon barrel? Creamy mouthfeel, though somehow thin on finish. Woodsy and chocolatey. Reminds me of Mokah.

Flaska från SB. Red cap drucken med ölföreningen. En maffig och intensiv fatlagrad IS. Krämig och leb munkänsla. Stora chokladsmaker som som går väldigt väl ihop med bourbonfatsmaken. Riktigt riktigt gott. Bland de bästa fatlagrade IS jag druckit.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: DEC 27, 2014 Bottle: Deep, thick black pour with a thin-bubbled, frothy tan pour that sifts nicely across the top. Aroma of whiskey, maple syrup, wood, bittersweet chocolate malt & cocoa syrup, & light, underlying hints of semisweet vanilla. Big-time bourbon barrel flavor; lots of warming whiskey, toasted grain, & lightly charred oak. Lighter hints of bitter chocolate, roasted malt, maple syrup, vanillin, & burnt sugar. Lightest kiss of dark prune, perhaps some faint anise hanging in there, too. The barrel has thinned out the mouth feel a tad from this one. Nice stout, but I actually prefer the non-barrel version by quite a bit.

Thick creamy taste. The viscosity is strane and awesome. Vanilla and caramel tastes compliment the roasted body arome. This is truely worth drinking.
