Aged in very special Kentucky whiskey barrels to add a super smooth, buttery, and complex whiskey character to our multi-award winning BORIS The Crusher Oatmeal Imperial Stout. Richer and bolder than our standard Bourbon Barrel Aged BORIS Stout, this rare version is a testament to our hard work and dedication in bringing our customers the very best.

HMOG 2015. I probably should have given this one a little more attention. I was taken aback unfortunately by an initial presence of thick soy sauce and molasses. Lots of boozy whiskey though which is what I should have focused on and enjoyed this more as a sipping booze drink. Either way the soy sauce detracted a bit for me.

HMOG 2015. One of the highlights of the day. I don’t care, you slap something in Pappy barrels and I get excited. Call it hype or what, but I haven’t had a bad beer in PVW barrels. Lovely thick black pour. Dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla, barrel, rich whiskey. Real nice.

Bottle: Oily black pour, very small tan collar around the edges. Aroma of fudge, sweet chocolate, heavy bourbon, burnt caramel, light wood, slight roast, very faint hint of vanilla. Flavor is bourbon fudge cake with underlying woody tannins, light anise & dates, more roasted malt towards the finish, mild coffee beans, hint of maple syrup even? Lofty mouth feel. Nice stuff.

From th first bottling, roperly cellared. Black pour, small head. Big bourbon aroma and taste. Dark coffee, vanilla, oak, whisky, booze almost non Existant in the taste but sneaks up on you. Thick oily body. Smooth for such a big beer.

Bomber. Pours coca cola brown with a beige head. Aroma is molasses, dark chocolate, vanilla. The Pappy barrels make this a different beer. Taste is molasses, raisin, vanilla, bourbon, oak. Rye spice in the finish. Smooth.

22 oz. bottle thanks to Willrunforbeer. 2013 vintage. No head on the opaque black liquid. Aroma is subtle vanilla, smooth bourbon, mild oak, and burnt molasses.

The bourbon is layered and mellow. Oak, vanilla, lingering burnt sugar, a mild rye whiskey malt hint that really helps round out the flavor. The spicy hint in the finish really helps integrate the stout character really nicely. Great oak character that is the Pappy barrel. Damn fine!

Bottle via Justin. Pours a dark brown/black, little to no head. Aroma milk chocolate, toasted coconut. Body roasty, but finish a little too hot for me. Good but not in the top tier of imperial stouts for me.

Bottle from the brewery. The whiskey is very much evident in the nose. Quite a bit of banana and vanilla through out. Extremely smooth and creamy. Well done. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle sample at a Jackie O’s release. Jet black color, brown head. Aroma has earthy dark chocolate, mushrooms, vanilla. Taste has dark fruit, stewed prunes, licorice, coffee, cocoa, vanilla. Lots going on in this one.
