22 oz. bottle shared by thebaldwizard - thanks again, Joe! Pours an inky midnight brown with almost no head. Notes of molasses, bourbon, chocolate, coconut, caramel, toast, brown sugar, oak, tobacco, fudge, and nuts. Medium-full bodied, with low to moderate carbonation and a coating mouthfeel. So rich and smooth. Really nice. This series is great.

22 oz. bottle with the group (sample at RBWG). Pours a dark brown to black color with a medium sized beige head. The aroma and flavor had all the great stuff from the regular Boris; roasted malt, chocolate, and espresso, oatmeal, some earthy hops, a splash of alcohol with the welcome addition of the pappy barrel. Wood, bourbon, vanilla that enhance the qualities of the base beer.

black, thin tan ring and oily top. Sweet nose, bubblegum and bourbon, faintest oak but considerable alcohol nearing cleaning product. Rich cake and chocolate up front, coating across mid with straight sugar finish. Thin in the end but decent for at least a while.

Bottle @ The HUGE Tasting. Cheers to Leighton (I think) for the pour! Deep brown with a tight tan head. The nose is of burnt oatmeal raisin cookies. Plenty of roasted malts, tangy fruit accents. Light caramel. The taste is really ashy. Loads of burnt malts. Vanilla, chocolate cookies. Full body, oily. Somewhat all over the place. Strong roast dominates. Overall, I thought this was a marked step down from the base beer. Still tasty, but disappointing.

Bottle shared by Dave. Great label. Aroma is dark roasted chestnut, chocolate cake, and slight oak. Pours black with a slight brown film. Taste is pleasant caramel chocolate cake, good roast coffee, and the slightest hint of oak. Very dark and roasty which kind of drowns out the barrel. Could have used a little more barrel but still damn good.

Bottle thanks to Jstax ! Pours a rich silky black color with a finger of medium khaki foam. The nose is a nice blend of bakers chocolate, spicy fruit, sweet bourbon vanilla, charred barrel. The palate is smooth and layered with nice bourbon character coming through the creamy palate. Almost brandy like with fruit kissed booze, dark cocoa and a smooth mouth coating finish.

pours oily black with a creamy dark beige head, good retention and lacing. burnt caramel, burnt hazelnuts, booze, coffee grinds, some smoky notes, bitter chocolate, very few and dissipating nail polish notes. moderate carbonation, medium to full body - oily, bold resinous and bitter coffee finish. enjoyed - just a bit less than BA-crusher.
