Bottled. Pours black with a small deep brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, caramel, whiskey, wood and vanilla notes. Sweet flavor that ends up more dry and with alcohol. Medium to full bodied, oily texture and soft carbonation. An excellent Impy. 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Black pour with a brown head which subsided quickly leaves a thick oily stain on the glass with no lacing .... Aroma is of vanilla, licorice, dark chocolate and light whiskey notes .... Taste is intense and of vanilla, licorice, dark chocolate, lightly sweet, roasted coffee, some dry oak and a whiskey flavor that burns right into the finish .... The end of this beer is like sipping whiskey .... Very enjoyable .... Body is thick and the mouthfeel is slick and oily .... Finish is pretty much a burning whiskey .... Excellent as usual from these guys

On tap at Hoppin Frog. Black with small light brown head. Dry dark chocolate, medium body, low carbonation, and some small-bubble lacing. Taste dark malt, whisky, vanilla, chocolate, coffee, and espresso. Better than regular DORIS.

22 ounce bottle, no dating on the bottle or label that could. Served in a DFH snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch brown head. Head retention and lacing are both good. I like the aroma, the brew smells like burnt/charred malt, bittersweet chocolate, coffee, dark fruit, and some whiskey. For the most part I think the taste is pretty similar to the aroma, but there’s also the addition of vanilla, woodiness and molasses. Mouthfeel/body is full, it’s slick, creamy and smooth with low/moderate carbonation. It’s certainly easy enough to drink! I liked this a lot, but at $15.99 a bomber it’s a bit pricey. Glad I got to try this, it’s definitely worth picking up.

22 oz bottle. Almost black with a brief, spongy tan head. Nose is tarry chocolate, molasses, espresso and prune with a nicely restrained touch of bourbon. Medium to full body with soft carb. Taste is dark caramel, bourbon, prune, wood and licorice. Good balance of bold flavors; drinks lighter than its ABV.

Thick oily black beer, brown head. Aroma of coffee, whiskey, vanilla and sweet roasted malt, nice. Tastes really awesome and rich, with vanilla, coffee, heavy bourbon, dark cacao and a buttery touch. Really long and evolving taste, it just keeps going on. Amazing, this is true greatness.

(22oz bomber) jet black, as thick as any beer I’ve seen, dark tan head. Nose of whiskey, dark chocolate, American hops, very roasty. Taste is roasty, high cacao content dark chocolate, American hops that are moderately bitter, well balanced by the bourbon. Thick body, dark chocolate linger.
