COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Aged in bourbon whiskey barrels to add a wonderful complexity to our massive American Double Imperial Stout. This barrel aging imparts memorable buttery, vanilla-like, and savory whiskey character, making this one of our most complex beers we’ve ever brewed. Another testament to our hard work and dedication in bringing our customers the very best.

Bottle. Aroma is lots of chocolate, dark malt notes with vanilla and light wood. Nice smooth full body with a long dark chocolate finish. Great beer but not sure if I could drink a full pint of this, its very rich.

Pours black with low deep reddish tan head. Aroma of muscovado, dates, port barrel, vanilla, milk chocolate, almost no roasty notes but very pleasant! Taste is port and fruit sweet with vanilla and milk chocolate followed by a long light bitter dark chocolate finish. Body is rich and creamy with soft carbonation.

Draft at the testing room. Pours pitch black with thin mocha head. Aroma of oak, chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, dark fruit, roast. Full body, really creamy, slightly oily texture. A bit hot with strong bourbon nots but a noticeably fuller body when tried next to BORIS

Piękna drobna, brązowa piana. Przypomina spienione lody czekoladowe. Opada zupełnie. W smaku ciemne słody, wyraźny chmiel, lekka kwaskowośc na końcu. Alkohol bardzo dobrze zamaskowany, ale przyjemnie rozgrzewa.

draught@Au Trappiste - black beer with a little beige foam left; roasted coffeish aroma, pretty woody and with notes of ashes; sticky and assertive; very bitter, full-bodied; notes of wood, vanilla, ashes and black chocolate - wonderful

Bottle from Mikkeller bottle shop, enjoyed with my lady. Aroma is full of bourbon - boasting with oak, bourbon and an alcohol kick. Vanilla and coconut from the barrel implemented onto a rich chocolaty and roasted body with a good hint of american hops. The taste is a mirror of the aroma - still quite hot from the bourbon, but with great complexity and intensity. This is a beer for those who don’t mind stouts that are big, juicy and boozy. But not an improvent to the already magnificent base beer.

Bomber. Black, completely opaque. Aroma is insanely black dark roasted malt. Touch of sweetness and bourbon. Taste is dark malt, unsweetened, cocoa, coffee grounds. One of the darkest roast beers over had. Bourbon is there but almost subdued by the strong malt. Doesn’t have the heat I expected. This was pretty good stuff.

Sample @ CBC 14. Pours a pitch black beer with almost no head on top. Aroma is peppery, chocolate, dark sugar and molasses. Also some very dark fruits in there. Flavor is very sweet, loads of chocolate and pepper in there. Very boozy. Big alcohol burn in the end. Very nice.

Sample at the Hoppin’ Frog Tasting Room. Pitch black pour with a medium light brown head that diminishes gradually to a film. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and bourbon. Full-bodied with flavors of dark chocolate, roast malt, oaky bourbon and coffee. The finish is roasty with an oaky vanilla and dark malt aftertaste. Good brew all around.

Pours like motor oil with a dark chocolate colored head. Aroma is whiskey barrel and chocolate. Taste is chocolate, heavy syrup, espresso, and whiskey barrel. Thick velvety mouth feel with a boozy and sweet finish.
