Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured black hue with an average creamy light brown head that lasted with good lacing. Aroma was a heavy toasted malt, strong coffee and bourbon aroma. Medium to heavy body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy complex toasted malt, vanilla and bourbon flavor and a medium to heavy complex sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Very good brew.

Sample at the Hoppin’ Frog Tasting Room. Pitch black pour with a medium light brown head that diminishes gradually to a film. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and bourbon. Full-bodied with flavors of dark chocolate, roast malt, oaky bourbon and coffee. The finish is roasty with an oaky vanilla and dark malt aftertaste. Good brew all around.

22 oz. bottle via local trade. Thanks, Del! Pours an inky opaque brown with a tiny dark tan head that disappears quickly and leaves a slim ring. Aroma of big chocolate, molasses, oats, oak, vanilla, brown sugar, roast, and soy. Flavor of charred oak, roasted malts, dark chocolate, soy, earth, oak, and whiskey. Finishes boozy and warm. Medium-bodied, with almost no carbonation and a smooth, too-thin mouthfeel. A little bit of a letdown after so many excellent imperial stouts from these guys.
