Aged in bourbon whiskey barrels to add a wonderful complexity to our massive American Double Imperial Stout. This barrel aging imparts memorable buttery, vanilla-like, and savory whiskey character, making this one of our most complex beers we’ve ever brewed. Another testament to our hard work and dedication in bringing our customers the very best.

Poured from a fresh bottle into a Hoppin Frog snifter. Appearance is like old engine oil with a one finger tan head. Aroma is chocolate, vanilla, and whiskey. Taste is chocolate, vanilla, coffee, whiskey, licorice. There is also a backend hoppiness and slight smoke. Palate is incredibly smooth and fills the mouth with a nice viscous presence. If you haven’t had this you need to find a bottle. Well worth your time and effort. Cheers.

Almost black beer with some dark brown head. It’s aroma and taste have coffee, whisky, some chocolate and alcohol notes, maybe some vanilla, as well. Amazing beer!

UPDATED: JAN 4, 2015 600cl bottle served in a snifter. Pours thick and black with a brown head which is the darkest I have ever seen) but does not last too long. Aroma is vanilla, bourbon and dark chocolate. Taste is all of these flavours with even more extremeness. A reasonable bitterness to follow these indulgent flavours and a mouthfeel that is so thick that the runs down the outside of the glass didn’t complete their journey before they had solidified into a black river down the glass. Lovely.

Piękna drobna, brązowa piana. Przypomina spienione lody czekoladowe. Opada zupełnie. W smaku ciemne słody, wyraźny chmiel, lekka kwaskowośc na końcu. Alkohol bardzo dobrze zamaskowany, ale przyjemnie rozgrzewa.

Big chocolate and bourbon aromas. Silky, chocolaty flavors with vanilla and bourbon undertones on the finish. As good as I imaginied it would be!

dark brown colour, minimal creamy dark brown head; aroma of coffee, whisky, wood, some dark chocolate and alcohol; taste of whisky notes, hints of vanilla, dark chocolate, roasted coffee, herbal notes, and spicy alcohol; long lasting spicy alcoholic aftertaste; excellent imperial stout

Wonderful. Lots of rosted, chocolate, coffee, and bourbon flavor. I was worried about spending so much on a single bottle, bit it was totally worth it.

In short: a mighty rounded Imp. Stout..
Pours black with nice little very tan head. Short head retention, poor lacing. Liquor, wood, roasty, coffee and cocholate aromas. Medium body, flat carbonation, viscous texture. Taste is quite bitter, some vanilla, chocolate, coffee, liquor notes. Very smooth and well balanced, alcohol noticeable but well integrated. Ends bitter and quite dry. Really enjoyable and lovely.

Draught. Pours pitch black with a small brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, oats and bourbon. Taste is pretty much like the aroma - roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, oats, licorice, love and bourbon. Full creamy body and low carbonation. The aftertaste is quite roasted and has lots of bourbon in it. However, unlike most barrel aged beers it actually works quite well here. It feels very balanced. Very good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
