The smooth and spicy character of Frog’s Hollow Double Pumpkin Ale is perfectly complimented by aging in used whiskey barrels. The result is a complex, super tasty combination of of flavors that is both satisfying and memorable. We hope you enjoy this very special Frog’s delight!

Aroma is the usual suspects, nutmeg, cinnamon, all spice, pie crust, pumpkin, lighter caramel malts, barrel character and somewhat of a citrus acidity. Medium body with more spices and light pumpkin and a Kentucky Gentleman like whiskey finish. It’s alright.

22oz bottle - drank this right before I took the kids out trick or treating. Poured an amber color with an averaged sized head. Pumkin, whiskey and pumpkin spices. I wish the spices were more muted by the barrel aging, but not the case - but for what it is, was enjoyable.

Bottle. The pour is lighter than I thought, a mild orange. The aroma is sourish with whisky tones. The taste has whiskey up front and mild pumpkin. Good seasonal beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured into a snifter. 3.0 A: Murky orange-tinted brown color. One finger of frothy beige head. Retention is lacking, but a short ring of lacing is left. 3.5 S: Pumpkin spiciness is most noticeable. It’s a mix of all the usual suspects - allspice, nutmeg, cinnamon, maybe some clove, but nothing stand out among them. A light leathery bourbon component complements the pumpkin well. Caramel maltiness from the base with a faint toastiness. It’s good, but it could use some more strength. 3.75 T: Taste is pretty much like the nose. Pumpkin spice, pumpkin, leathery bourbon, mild warming booziness, caramel malt. 3.5 M: Lighter medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Light creaminess. Could use more body, but overall it’s okay. 3.5 D: Good pumpkin beer, just not a great one. I like big spices, deep rich maltiness, and plenty of body. This doesn’t have any of those, but everything else is done well. ★ 907 characters DavoleBomb, Aug 31, 2013

One of the better pumpkin beers, but it’s still not my thing. To much spices, not enough beer,

transparent orange, large bubbled white ring, spotty lacing. Ultra sugary and boozy nose, pumpkin actually plays second fiddle. Spiced flavor, less booze, sugar and oxidation present alongside cardboard mid that grows, spice retuning. Toned down pumpkin, but booze too high and oxidation has softened badly.

650ml bottle. Clear, amber colour with small, frothy, rapidly diminishing, off-white head. Spiced pumpkin aroma, hints of cinnamon, clove, rose hip, bergamot, additional BA notes oak and vanilla. Taste is sweet-and-sour, notes of pumpkin, bubblegum, mint, vanilla, leather, rose hip, bergamot, lemon. Indeed "complex, super tasty", very balanced and harmonious, unobtrusive; relatively light and very drinkable. Handles BA and spices with acrobatic and artistic, precisely artisan effortlessness.

Bottle split on the Chris Fudge memorial special, thanks to the Wingman, 02/03/15. Lightly hazed chestnut brown with a moderate off white covering. Nose is spice, biscuit, toffee, clove, nutmeg, dark fruit rinds, light booze, subtle bourbon check in, oaky. Taste comprises toffee, light booze, moderate pumpkin intake, nutmeg, spice rack, subtle bourbon. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close with subtle BA strokes and lightly warming alcohol. Solid BA pumpkinator - one of the best pumpkin beers I’ve come across, BA balance is spot on.
