3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, 22oz. A semi-clear, dark brown beer topped by a small, beige head. Raisins, spices, gløgg-spices that is, dark malts, caramel hints, generic dried fruits, some woody notes and a touch of caramel sauce. A vinous touch too. The flavor is mostly spiced, in a really nice way, still it’s quite balanced, with enough maltyness to deal with the spices. Caramel sauce and some hints of dried fruits. A really pleasant spiced beer, seems like Hoppin Frog knows how to use the spices. 121219

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours brown and hazy. Very christmassy aroma of gingerbread, cinnamon, cloves and bourbon. Flavour of gingerbread, wood, bourbon and plenty of spices too. For me this the almost perfect christmas beer. How could I not give a beer like this a good review?

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sample FOBAB ’12 - Deep amber pour w/ small head. Aroma is very spicy with clove and peppery notes. Flavor is similarly spicy with some whiskey and woody notes in the background - pretty intensely spiced. Palate is similarly full and flavor is long lasting - not my cup of tea to be perfectly honest, but I seem to appreciate that this is well done regardless.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber. Poured deep coppery-amber with a yellowy-beige head. The aroma picked up sweet whiskey, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves over toasted biscuity malts.. some caramel too.. lots of components I enjoy, but it sure was mighty sweet. The flavor found tart whiskey and oak on the tip of the tongue with toasted caramel and biscuity malts following.. lots of cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg laced throughout.. tartness, sweetness, and spices fought each other on the big finish. Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation on the palate.. again there was a lot of stuff I enjoy in there, but too much of just about all of it.
