Bottled. A dark red beer with a thin orangey head. The aroma has notes of alcohol and berries. The flavor is very sweet with notes of alcohol, malt, and berries, combined with notes of wood, leading to a dry whiskey finish. The alcohol bites the cheeks.

Bottle 65 cl. Pours a clear reddish amber with a small off-white head. Sweet oaky aroma, sweet licorice allsorts. Solid body, carbonation is a little low, very sweet caramel, overripe fruit with an oaky vanilla overload. Again licorice allsorts. Warming alcohol finish if not exactly boozy. Somewhat sticky – but a lovely sipper. 251211

Bottle @ chriso. Pours a clear amber color with a small off-white head. Has a sweetish malty fruity caramel and dark fruit aroma with weak hints of vanilla. Sweetish malty vanilla woody caramel flavor. Has a fruity malty woody vanilla toffee caramel finish.

Bottle @ Early Winter Tasting, Ulfborg, 2011. Pours ruby amber with a small creamy head and lacings. Soft and smooth. Bourbon, vanilla, toffee, liquorice, cookies and caramel. Yes. One of the best barley wines ive had in a while. Balanced and very tasty! Full bodied and soft.

Bottle at home - shared with Mette. Clear dark deep red/brown - white head. Dried fruits, nice wooden, tannins, fruity, licorice, barley, raisins, alcoholic, peppery, nice hoppy, grassy, citrus, light phenols, whiskey, prunes, wineous, caeamel, roasted notes. Lovely.

(22oz bottle) Pours a clear amber body with a medium off-white head. Aroma of toffee, wood, vanilla, caramel, and bourbon. Flavor of caramel, Belgian yeast, vanilla, wood, light bourbon, and toffee with a dry finish. Alcohol is nicely hidden for 11.3%. Dangerous beer.
