4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
22 oz bottle, Andersons, $11.99 or $12.99. Had the non-barrel-aged 22 oz last night. Same unfiltered murky dark copper pour; dissipates into a small ring and a very light, sparse covering. -Much- more notable oak and vanilla and wood than the non-BA version, and surprisingly boozier too. Probably more dark fruit (prune?) than the non-BA. This was a fun beer to taste test because against the non-BA. With the non-BA at about 8 bucks I’d like to see the BA version at a little less of a markup, but this is really, really good.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Location: 22 oz bottle from Sparrow, 7/11/14
Aroma: The nose is sweet and a little boozy, toffee, oak, and vanilla
Appearance: It pours a murky reddish-orange color with a small head and light lace spots
Flavor: The taste is along the same lines, quite sweet, toffee, vanilla, and booze
Palate: The body is medium-plus and a little sticky, with a soft carbonation
Solid beer, quite malty, but that is to be expected. I basically got what I was expecting here, nothing special, but good enough for government work.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Hoppin’ Frog has the worst bottle design ever. I mention this just because I think I’ve mentioned it in everyone of my reviews for them and I just wanna keep the streak going. This is a cloudy orange beer w/ a short-lived and small head. It has an interesting nose w/ lots of raisin malt and a bit of banana which is really odd for the style but not bad. It is sweet and malty w/ a big-time barrel character w/ cherry and coconut being prominent. This is ever so slightly tart and a bit sticky and heavy but not too bad compared to a lot of big, barrel aged beers. I am not sure I would seek this out but it is at the very least not total garbage.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bomber from a PUB’R Docolyte. Pours chill hazy mahigany with 1-finger fizzy white head that says, "I’m as rare as integrity from a Rethug, you punk!" Nose is Munich and vienna malts, earthy toffee, brown sugar, and mild hops. Tastes vienna malty, with notes of brown sugar, toffee, spirits, vanilla, oak, and finishes powerful and complex with woody vanilla, oaky, and malty notes. Finishes a bit flat, but complex.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from FlandersNed-thanks, Steve! Copper colored. Nose is some sweet malts, light vanilla. Flavor follows, but just a completely hollow beer. What do you call something that is less than one dimensional? Very disappointing.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Azt hiszem ez az első skót Ale sör, amit ittam. Különleges íze van, nagyon kellemes aromajelleggel. Kicsit meglepett "ő drágasága" (4.800,- / palack).

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber. Pours a cloudy reddish color with a small white head. A big boozy whiskey nose. The flavor is similar: heat, vanilla, oak, booze, a bit of berries, some toffee. More fresh hot whiskey. Rye? Ultimemtly this is pretty good but it’s a bit much as well. The base struggles.

22oz bottle. Poured a deeper amber color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, woody, toffee, vanilla, and some earthiness. Tastes of vanilla, toffee, caramel, peat/earth, malty, and some fruitiness. Lighter bourbon.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks beerandbyond. Pours hazy, headless copper. Rich sweet, honey-floral aroma, a little alcoholic. Sweetish taste, candy-toffee-like. Smooth, full-bodied, long and sweet alcoholic finish.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle thanks to Alemax. Pours copper brown with rapidly settling white head and no lacing. Aroma is oak and whisky, big caramelized sugar, toffee, fruity, plum. Flavor is caramel, nutty, toffee, with an oaky, vanilla, whisky, caramel finish. Soft carbonation, medium light body, seems a little thin for the flavor and alcohol.
