Commercial Description:
Our IPA and Stout converge for a really great flavor combination to create a rich and robust black & tan. The assertive hoppy character of our Hoppin to Heaven IPA is perfectly complimented by the intense deep roasted flavor of our BORIS Oatmeal Imperial Stout. Two great tastes that taste even better together.

Pours black with almost no head. Aroma of chocolate from stout, but a decent amount of citrus hops from the IPA. For having less % of Stout in there, it holds it own. Although interesting and worth a shot, I think I would rather just drink a aggressively hopped stout outright.

Bomber from Whole Foods, Tampa, Fl. Pours a dark cola brown to black with 1 finger tan head that settles quickly. Aroma is both malty and hoppy with notes of chocolate, caramel, light floral esters, and light roast. Flavor is initially hoppy bitterness with a transition to chocolate, malty goodness. Floral hops toward finish with some light caramel, toffee notes before. Medium body with a malty, hoppy finish.

Quite dark brown, chocolatey aroma wrapped around leafy hops. Creamy coffee balanced with strong assertive bitterness.

Dark brown with a beige head. Aroma of chocolate with raisin and light fruit and cocoa powder. Odd I can almost differentiate the different beers. Chocolate malts come on strong in the flavor. Light fruit, some floral and some molasses. Good but interesting. Still, I’d give it another go.

The aroma is both very hoppy and very toasted with chocolate, coffee, and molasses. The appearance is dark with a tan head and a few particles. The flavor is like the aroma with a nice toasted malt and bitter coffee finish. The palate is smooth and thick. Overall a nice take on the black and tan.

pours pitch black with a nice and fluffy tan head. aroma is mostly pine tree and IPA smelling with a hint of coffee and caramel. when you drink it, its mostly stoutish, as is tastes very coffee like, roasty, full bodied and malty with a hint of hops. this stuff truly is a beautiful mix of a great IPA and a great stout.

~ Purchased this 22 oz bomber from Shoreline Beverage in Huntington, NY. Pours black with a nice tan head that lingers around for a while. Aromas are of citrus, pine needles, and roasted malts. At 67% IPA, there’s a good dose of hops up front. The stout flavors then kick in, and at only 33%, it seems to balance everything out quite effectively. Overall, Satisfying. ~

22oz bomber. Pours stout dark but not thick. Settles quickly with a rich head. Flavor and aroma is evidently hoppy with a slight bitterness and light sweetness from the dark malts. Very complex! I was curious about this combination and pleasantly surprised.
