COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our IPA and Stout converge for a really great flavor combination to create a rich and robust black & tan. The assertive hoppy character of our Hoppin to Heaven IPA is perfectly complimented by the intense deep roasted flavor of our BORIS Oatmeal Imperial Stout. Two great tastes that taste even better together.

Bottle @ Melkebaren, Sandnes. Pours black with a smal tan head. It’s not difficult to detect that this is a Hoppin Frog ale. All though it consists of 66% IPA and 33% stout, the stout really dominates the aroma and flavors. The IPA backs it all up with a nice bitterness, and some freshness to the whole picture. Strong aromas of leather, licorice, dark chocolate. Similar to BORIS in fact. A really great ale! But one glass is more than enough and last a while.

Black color. Light brown head. Hop aroma towards dried citrus and pine. Taste is much of the same, combined with some vinous notes as well. Getting a hint of licorice towards the end. Quite enjoyable.

Pours dar black with a light colored brown head that fades somewhat fast, leaves some ok lacing.aroma is leather, raisins, tobacco, some citrus hints from the hops, but the hops seem pretty muted. Taste is about identical, but the hops shine even less in the taste, from the leathery sort of vinous tste I’m getting from this, and also from how little hop presence there seems to be, id say this bottle sat on the shelf for awhile. This is still a really good beer, but id like to get a more fresh sample so I can get the full effect from the hops.

Sampled bottle at GBF 2012. Very dark reddish brown with a small off-white head. Aroma: toffee, milk chocolate, fruity. Taste: milk chocolate, balanced roast, not very hoppy but has a nice fruitiness. Very smooth, above medium-bodied. This was nice.
