COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
BORIS #100 was made with the finest English Pale Ale malt instead of our usual American malt, to celebrate brewing the 100th. batch of BORIS The Crusher Oatmeal-Imperial Stout. This adds a slightly sweeter and truly traditional flavor for this truly bodacious English-style Imperial Stout, our flagship beer! Made in extremely limited quantites.

Has a blue cap.

Pours a tarry black with some carbonation but not a lot. Smells like soy and anise. Rather full bodied and fairly smooth. Has a smoky flavor with a detectable degree of alcohol. Nice beer to share. Couldn’t put the whole thing down myself.

Bottle, bought @ Ølbutikken, Cph.
Pours pitch-black with a small, fizzy, brown head that soon disappears. Aroma has dark chocolate, light rubber, hazelnuts. Light soy sauce. Medium carbonation, fine creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has dark chocolate, nuts, coffee, roasted. Oatmeal aplenty, sweet, but maintains a fine degree of roasted and piney hops bitterness. Not as magnificent as the original BORIS, but still a wonderful Imperial Stout.

03-MAR-2012, bottle @home, from "Fish & Beer". Black with low brown head. Licorice nose with some chocolate. Taste is even more chocolate, almost licorice root - that woody note is there. A little peaty but not as complex as the ordinary BORIS that I still prefer. Also too expensive.

I didn’t expect there to be such a distinct difference in the Batch #100 from the regular Boris. But this is noticeably smoother, more mellow, and a little sweeter. It seems more refined. I drank this beer fresh, as the first beer of the night, and thought it was pretty damn good. As it stands now, I prefer this over regular Boris.
