COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
BORIS #100 was made with the finest English Pale Ale malt instead of our usual American malt, to celebrate brewing the 100th. batch of BORIS The Crusher Oatmeal-Imperial Stout. This adds a slightly sweeter and truly traditional flavor for this truly bodacious English-style Imperial Stout, our flagship beer! Made in extremely limited quantites.

Has a blue cap.

Sampled at an esbls tasting. Side by side with boris. Big and black. So smooth compared to boris. Such rich malt. A really good beer and quite distinct from boris.

22 oz. bomber sent by fatknitty for my buddy Dan, who then shared it with me. Thanks again! Pours a super dark, opaque brown color with a small brown ring for a head. The aroma is led by dark fruits, then molasses, deep, dark malts that don’t come across as roasted, sugar, and chocolate. Flavor of rich chocolate, dark fruits, molasses, earth, and fudge. Some boozy heat. Full-bodied, with low carbonation and a smooth, rich, chewy mouthfeel. I’m not as big a fan of the English malt bill; not bad, but my least favorite of the BORIS line.

Batch 100. Bottle in a snifter. Pours brown with brown head. Aroma is coffee and alcohol. Taste is bitter. Very roasty. Full body. Not my style. Thank you AR for sharing.

22 ounce bottle. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch dark brown head. The head doesn’t stay around for too long, and there’s a decent amount of lacing on the glass. Aroma is sweet and roasty, the brew smells like roasted malt, bittersweet and milk chocolate, oats, and a little bit of dark fruit and coffee. However, the taste seems a lot more roasty than it is sweet. It tastes like roasted/burnt/charred malt, coffee, bittersweet and milk chocolate, and some anise and dark fruit. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it’s a bit slick with moderate carbonation. I think this is a solid overall beer, but I don’t like it nearly as much as I do the regular BORIS. And with this being a little more expensive ($10.99 a bottle) than the regular version, I won’t be buying another bottle. But I do think it’s worth a try since it’s a one time beer.

Bottle. A little disappointing for me. I am a fan of the regular BORIS and had one the night before I had this one. It did not seem as sweet as the regular BORIS and it was very dry, which normally I like, just not in this case for some reason. Still a fine beer, but I was hoping this would blow the Royal or the DORIS out of the water.
