bottle - Pours thick and black with a thin tan head. Dark roast malt and chocolate comprise the aroma. The big, full mouth feel has flavors of those dark roast malts and chocolate along with some coffee. There’s some mild bitterness in the finish and a hint of the alcohol that’s mostly buried under all that malt. Very nice brew.

Bottle: pours pitch black with a thin dark tan head, aroma of sweet chocolate - some one elses rating mentioning chocolate mousse is pretty damn accurate, taste is chocolate and more chocolate, very sweet with a slight bitter finish and a nice thick mouthfeel. I don’t know if I could drink a ton of these because of the sweetness but on occasion this is a nice treat. A must try for anyone that hasn’t had it yet.

Pitch black pour, slight, dark head, Great chocolate flavor to this one, sweet, Caramel, slight hoppy aftertaste. Great brew, no alcohol taste at all, really creeps up on you! Recieved in Mystery swap 2.0.

Pours from the bottle like I just struck oil. A dark chocolate mousse head forms in slow motion, this is some 10W30. Smells of dark chocolate covered cherries with a hint of expresso. Big roasted malt and ground coffee taste. Finishes with the chocolate covered cherry taste. Full in the mouth with some carbonation. Between warming effect and taste, the A.B.V. is noticeable. A sipper no doubt. Quite a delight this one, a must try.

From the bottle, courtesy of July Secret Santa, pours thick and black like oil, thich creamy brown head and nice lacing. Strong aroma of alcohol, chocolate syrup. Very thick, heavy mouthfeel, but silky smooth with just a little bitter bite at the end and a slightly sour aftertaste. Flavors of rasted malts, chocolate, alcohol, and some toffee are quite prevalent. Heavy beer. I like it. I wouldn’t try for more than one of these in a night, but one really sets the tone for the evening’s festivities.

22oz. Bottle. Pours like a 15 year old 10W-40…with a small tan head of course. Aroma of baker’s chocolate and roasted coffee. Taste was of the same, with hints of caramel, mint and oats. Great body which hid the the alcohol well. Nice piney hops to crisp up the creamy finish. Absolutely stunning. Better then I was expecting.

I didn’t mean for this to come out with a 4.3, it just did when the numbers got put in. Pours almost black, with a small brown head — beautiful. Nose of caramel, milk chocolate, and bitter coffee. Tastes like milk chocolate, fresh heavy cream, espresso, dark sweet malts, with good bitter hops and a kind of minty and citrus close. Long bitter hoppy finish. Mouth of heavy silky cream. This is great.

UPDATED: JAN 22, 2008 Pours like motor oil, Black as night with a thin light brown head. Strong caramel and coffee aroma. Caramel, toffee, mild coffee, molasses, and dark chocolate all play a part in this huge stout. Bitter to sweet with a velvet smooth, full mouth feel. Oily with soft carbonation. Amazing stout.
