22oz. Bottle. Pours like a 15 year old 10W-40…with a small tan head of course. Aroma of baker’s chocolate and roasted coffee. Taste was of the same, with hints of caramel, mint and oats. Great body which hid the the alcohol well. Nice piney hops to crisp up the creamy finish. Absolutely stunning. Better then I was expecting.

I didn’t mean for this to come out with a 4.3, it just did when the numbers got put in. Pours almost black, with a small brown head — beautiful. Nose of caramel, milk chocolate, and bitter coffee. Tastes like milk chocolate, fresh heavy cream, espresso, dark sweet malts, with good bitter hops and a kind of minty and citrus close. Long bitter hoppy finish. Mouth of heavy silky cream. This is great.

UPDATED: JAN 22, 2008 Pours like motor oil, Black as night with a thin light brown head. Strong caramel and coffee aroma. Caramel, toffee, mild coffee, molasses, and dark chocolate all play a part in this huge stout. Bitter to sweet with a velvet smooth, full mouth feel. Oily with soft carbonation. Amazing stout.

12-5-07 bottle shared with lb4lb with a big thanks to Miketd!!
Big roasted smooth oatmeal and marshmallow smell and taste. Thick black pour with a swirled tan head and some lacing. Thick, creamy flavor - a bit heavy on the alcohol taste for me - but thick and smooth and yummy overall! Thanks Mike for trading with Deniz - I always win that way!

Bottled. Pitch black coloured. Dense brown head laying on top. Nice looks. Coffee, sweetness, light spice, loads of liqourice and chocolote in the aroma. Intense. Flavour is incredible smooth. Brown sugar, sweetness, ligth spice, chocolate and light coffee. Full bodied. HAs a sweet and chocolatish end with a tad of bitterness. Warming on the lips. Thx. a million to ughsmash for this good one.

From 22oz bottle. I thought this beer was pretty good but I feel it is little heavy in the alcohol flavor and bitter in the end. A good brew but I like the Black & Tan better.

From 22 oz bottle : Pours a crazy dark brown/black, with a dark brown small head. Pours very thick as well. Aroma is rich, big roasted malts, coffee. Very thick bodied, but silky on the palate and goes down pretty smooth, with a little bitter bite at the end. Taste dark roasted chocolate and coffee notes. A slight alcohol burn on the way down, but not very intense. Quite good.

22 oz bottle. Dark brown with a trace of rusty tan around the edges. A vigorous pour leaves a creamy dollop. Rich aroma of tarry licorice, dark fruits and coffee. Wow, this stuff comes on like a ton of bricks. Thick and silky but sinister, like an evil potion. A touch of carb bites at the tongue. Mocha and dark chocolate develop an intense bitterness like chewing espresso beans and doing a shot of vodka. Dry finish with oats. Over the top but i like it.

Near black color with a thin diminished lid of dark brown tiny bubbles. Top has a real oily look to it. Dark chocolate and roasted malt overpower the aromas. Only a few hints of caramel and light pine sap. Roasted malts with a light fruitiness underneath. Thick, chewy and lightly oily in feel. This is my kind of imperial stout, rich and malty. Hints of mint, grapefruit zest and other herbal hops qualities bounce about. Light port in the finish. Long finish and linger with a return of malt and mild coffee like acidity. A very pleasurable brew.

Pours jet black with a dark tan head. Aroma of mainly alcohol and some coffee. Mainly taste of coffe and chocolate, alcohol flavor very well hidden.
