First brew from this brewery...surprising since I live in the same state. Nice stout. Pours black, with a dark tan head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, bread, hay, and slight alcohol burn. Taste is similar, however, not much detection, if any, of alcohol. Very smooth, easy drinking. I could drink a couple of bombers in 1 sitting. Would recommend.

Strong tasting imperial stout, yet not overpowering, quite balanced. The oatmeal gives the beer a nice spicyness.

Mooie zwarte kleur met een volle bruine kraag. Ruikt iets gebrand, koffie, vanille en crème. Smaakt lekker bitter, vanille, gebrand en koffie.

In short: Really good! Nice malty taste of roasted coffee and chocolate. Really well rounded taste that lasts for a while.

Pours very dark Brown, no light through, slight dark khaki thin head thin lacing. Aroma chocolate, coffee, alcohol toffee, caramel, earthy. Taste roast malt, coffee, bittersweet chocolate, sweet caramel, alcohol. Mouthfeel full body, creamy alcohol astringency and bite, low carbonation, sweet finish. Overall very good, rich, complex, finish a bit sweet, but perfect for the style. I can only imagine what a few years of age would do to this beer, need to get one for the cellar

Tap @ Fermentoren Aarhus. Pitch black motor oil color, with a beautiful light brown head with a voluptuous thickness. Aroma is dark chocolate, mild roasted coffee, vanilla, figs, sweet liquorice, molasses, port, sweet raisins. Very thick aroma which ticlkles the nostrils in a very sexual way. Taste is thick, thick 80+ chocolate, very insisting sweetness, molasses, boozy but with a very nice finish with a mild, cocoa-like bitterness that sticks to the palate. Lovely!

22 oz bottle, served in a snifter next to the whiskey barrel-aged version. Pours oily black with a small tan head that fades to a thin remnant and leaves a small amount of fine lace. The nose has huge notes of espresso, chocolate, and molasses, along with roast malts, tobacco and subtle smoke. The flavour is moderately sweet with roasty malts, chocolate and molasses. Towards the end, tobacco and espresso reemerge and linger to a slightly smoky, roasted finish. On the palate it is full in body with a velvety smooth texture and soft carbonation. Overall this is a very nice, elegant imperial stout. 2014-04-03
