Def my style of stout. I believe the oats give this beer its smoothness. This one pours very dark with a nice light color head. Great feel and smoothness. This one goes down easy. Taste the chocolate and roasted oat Malts. Enjoy my friends.

Bottle at Kaisla, Helsinki. Pours pitch black with a little brownish head, an oily impression. The aroma has notes of whisky and vanilla; it also features strong roasty maltiness with coffee and chocolate - very rich. Taste is initially medium sweet, later bending gracefully toward a bitter, hoppy finish that sets this version apart from the barrel aged one. Intense maltiness dominates, but the balance is well kept as also hoppy notes are around. The palate is full-bodied, velvety smooth and flat in carbonation. Brilliant.

Dark brown, light ruby tinge, ringed tanny head. Creamy liquorice, dusty oat. Creamy rich choc, slick mouthfeel throughout and little earthy towards the finish. Lush mouthfeel really, linger is chocco milk. 2009 Vintage.

Appearance is oil, pitch black, a tan foamy covering, no light escaping at all. Aroma- fudgy chocolate, dark chocolate, cocoa, black coffee, leather, vanilla, dark malts. Smells luscious. Taste- amazing. Chocolate fudge cake, bitter, dark chocolate, rich coffee, vanilla undertones, burnt toast spread with toffee, oaty chocolate biscuit, molasses, charcoal, sticky, silky mouthfeel, bitter, clinging, slightly hoppy finish. Like biting into a booze-soaked piece of chocolate fudge with espresso drizzled over it. Superb stout.

600cl bottle shared in a snifter. Pours black with a very short lived tan head. Aroma is rich toasted malt, milk chocolate and sweetness with an almost bourbon barrel aged richness. Taste is more of the same with an almost buttery/creamy mouthfeel which I assume is imparted by the oatmeal and continues the theme of smooth rich flavours. A surprising level of bitterness given the sweet and creamy initial taste but overall quite well balanced.

Long awaited a taste of this one but I never pulled the trigger due to price. My store finally got it in for a reasonable price. Thick dark pour with medium dark brown head. Smell is roast, some dark fruits, hint of booze, cocoa Taste is roast, coffee, bits of char, dark chocolate, minor booze. Great texture and creamy mouthfeel. Delicious
