Re-rate, on tap at Hop Devil Grill, NYC. Similar numbers to my bottled rating, I just bumped the aroma from 6 to 8 as it smelled really nice on tap - lots of coffee, alcohol, chocolate and roast. I also bumped appearance from 3 to 4 based on the on tap appearance. Overall from 15 to 16 b/c of this. A really solid impy. Bottle shared with Jerc, Mabel, and Blankboy, courtesy of Jerc and Mabel (I think). Pitch black, no head at all. Mild chocolate, roast aroma. Really good roast taste, with some alcohol at the end. Thick thick body, probably needed a little bit more carbonation. A very good impy.

Black as midnight in color with a nice sized tan head. Smell is oatmeal, chocolate, coffee, and malted roastiness. Taste is malty, coffe, chocolate, and good roastiness. Big body, pretty good beer.

Pours dark brown/black with a small tan head. Aroma of chocolate, bitter coffee, malt. Taste is smiilar with some oat and a heavy bitter finish. Also, some subtle sweetness. Mouth is full-bodied and smooth.

Pours a pitch black body with just a few brown bubbles at the surface. No light is escaping this one. Burnt coffee, some chocolate, back to a dry, lasting finish. Slightly warm from alcohol, but hard to put down. Excellent.

Bottle at home ... <thaks to WeeHeaxySD for this, a beer that was one of the first to cathc my eye with its great name ... Deep black with an ever so slight red tinge to the head ...Deep roast and loads of Chocolate in the nose ... Deep roast ... little burnt malts ... HUGE amount of chocolate ... smooth with a little spirit ... just so soft smooth silky and lovely deep chocolate .... burntness subsides over time ...

Bomber! Poured pretty frickin’ black with a light brown shaving cream head which stuck around for a while. Nose was really rich with lots of roasted malt, chocolate and coffee. Also notes of hazelnut and sweet, sweet booze. You thankfully get all the same stuff in the flavor with a little added hops zing in the finish. Heavy body with little carbonation and a silky mouthfeel. Sticky, but not overly sweet. Good stuff.
