22 oz bottle, served in a snifter next to the whiskey barrel-aged version. Pours oily black with a small tan head that fades to a thin remnant and leaves a small amount of fine lace. The nose has huge notes of espresso, chocolate, and molasses, along with roast malts, tobacco and subtle smoke. The flavour is moderately sweet with roasty malts, chocolate and molasses. Towards the end, tobacco and espresso reemerge and linger to a slightly smoky, roasted finish. On the palate it is full in body with a velvety smooth texture and soft carbonation. Overall this is a very nice, elegant imperial stout. 2014-04-03

Deep brown colour with cinnamon coloured head on top. Aroma has deep roasted flavors, with brown sugar, coffee and dark chocolate. Taste is sweet, almost like syrup. There is roasted malt flavors with lots of chocolate. Oily body with medium carbonation. Slightly sweeter Imperial Stout but damn good.

Botella de 65cl en el Cabanon. Color negro. Espuma poco duradera. Sabor a café y chocolate y con notas dulces. No aparenta en alcohol que tiene. Fácil y muy agradable de beber

Black and oily with no real visible head. Smell is dark malt and a certain sweetish oatsy aroma. Taste is very well balanced between the roasted malts and the sweetness - think I might even prefer this base beer to the bourbon barrel version. Good solid stuff.

Barwa: czarna, nie przejrzysta nawet pod światło. Piana brązowa, drobno pęcherzykowa, niewielka i szybko opadająca. Wysycenie niskie. Aromat: przede wszystkim gorzka czekolada i kakao. W tle kawa, owies i alkohol, choć dobrze ukryty. Zdecydowanie przyjemny. Moje oczekiwania były dość duże i piwo to w zasadzie je spełniło, choć osobiście preferuję imperialne stouty bez wspomnianych nut owocowych.

Bottle: Pours nearly black, with a short-lived brown head. Sweet, chocolate malt aroma...vanilla cream. Flavour is smoky, roasted chocolate, cream, prune. Very rich, sweet, and smooth. Amazingly easy to drink. Excellent.

Tout en richesse, chocolat, mélasse, tabac doux, noisettes, caramel etc. La texture est suave, onctueuse et la finale est surprenamment sèche, abruptement sèche. Buvabilité magnétique.

The aroma is sweet and bready, and the flavor is as good as I hoped it would be! Boris is a big boy, but he never offends. There are loads of fresh, sweet grain in here, and flavors of prune, pumpernickel, bran muffin, rye, and black cherry. Excellent.

Dark roasted fruits and malts, dried fruits, coffee, dark chocolate, cherries, plums, jam, raisins, noble alcohol.Texture is smooth, thick, very velvet. Full body with soft carbonation. Very very good RIS, worth remembering.
