4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 BMMillsy (683) - Florida, USA - NOV 18, 2012Pours pitch black with almost no head. Aroma of rich chocolate, roastiness, and hops. Heavy roasty chocolate flavor with a little bite going down. Finishes with slight currant then explodes with another burst of chocolate. Thick mouthfeel. Hearty oatmeal presence. Nice.

Bottle. Pours motor oil black with no head whatsoever. Nose is extremely weak. Eventually picked up some dark fruits followed by roasted barley. Taste is similar but roasted malt is up front backed up by the fruit. Light char note evident on the finish. Palate is full with a decent carb. Overall this is a huge disappointment. I was eagerly anticipating this one. I'm not tasting any off flavors but I can't help but wonder if this is off or infected somehow. Will definitely try again at some point just in case.

Oh yeah. Pours oily black with a thick, fluffy, dark brown, fudgy head. Aroma of coffee, gun powder, licorice, chocolate and slight ripe fruits. Banana too i think. The taste is a little more burned than expected, and contains lots of coffee. Dark dark chocolate, but also these hidden fruit and sweet licorice notes. Lots of stuff going on, but well balanced!

22 oz bottle from Supermarket Liquors. Black with a small brown head that disappears to nothing. Roasted malty aroma with dark chocolate and light coffee. Similar flavor, fairly sweet with mild dark fruits and light bitter hops. Full bodied, creamy and smooth. Very nice.

Great first taste but then wanders into complex malty, bananaistic, aftertaste that we found to be not the great. Good beer, but not as good as the price would demand.
