RBSG 2007 Grand Tasting - Tar black, thin tan creamy head. Deep intense aromas of espresso, chocolate crème brûlée, toffee, and vanilla oats. Big chocolate and black coffee flavors are well balanced with vanilla graham cracker undertones. Full bodied and oily, soft carbonation, bittersweet finish. Any thought of distribution to MD?? Rockin brew from start to finish...

Aug 21, 2008 22oz bottle. Pours nearly black with a very little crown of fine tan head. Nose is rich, first with alcohol, then chocolate, then deep roasted malts and a good dose of hops. Flavour is sweet and heavy, almost like a light chilled coffee liquor taken straight. Notes of lightly dried walnuts as well. There’s a good amount of carbonation that leaves this one sharp on the palate. The nice long bitter finish means you can draw out this excellent experience.

Aug 20, 2008 If there ever was a beer that would kick your ass, this wold be it. Pours jet black with a big brown head. Huge aroma of coffee and chocolate. Immense chocolate flavor with strong roasted malts and coffee which is not overpowering. Body is extremely balanced. Alcohol is very well hidden.

Aug 19, 2008 Bottle. High creamy and long lasting dark brown head. Almost an understatement to describe it as pitch black. Prettty hoppy coffee chocolate aroma. Flavor though relatively mild and round coffee chocolate but no sigh of cream or alcohol. Very well balanced. High carbonation and a long bitter aftertaste.

Aug 18, 2008 bottle (thanks Tim & Suzanne!) - pours a thick, oily black. Aromas of coffee, dark dried berries and chocolate. Rich, sweet full mouthfeel - nice balance of sweet malts, body and bitterness. Crisp and big on flavor. A very (VERY) good imperial stout. For once, I’m jealous of you luck folks who live in Ohio!
