5000 (2400), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA Jan 1, 2008 Bottle: Black as night, black coffee on the edges, dark brown head, minor in size and fairly fizzy, sparce lacing.   Huge sweet
graham cracker and oatmeal nose.   Moderate roasted malts, slight milk sugar.   Some alcohol is noticeable.   Velvety right off
the bat.   Very smooth and silky.   Quite malty, roasty, with a heaping dose of graham cracker.   Has a sort of Smores quality
about it too.   Alcohol is noticeable, being somewhat hot.   Moderate hop bitterness, a bit bigger in this than in other examples.
Picking up some vanilla and cocoa as well.   Does appear to be fairly chocolate oriented, on the bitter/darker side.
Smooth... very smooth and easy to put back.   This one lives up to its name.   Finish is warming, lingering cocoa and graham
cracker.   Great beer!   Thanks to RagallachMC for sending me several of these!
larsniclas (3029), Gothenburg, Sweden Oct 5, 2008 Bottled at 3 små rum.
Black with a small, beige/orange head.
Loads of cocoa and chocolate in both aroma and flavour.
Thick and oily. Vinous with sweet, dried fruits. Hophead22 (251), Redlands, California, USA Oct 5, 2008 22oz bottle, via trade with ogglethorp, big thanks Brian. Poured a deep dark black, couldn’t even shine a flashlight through it, dark tan head. Heavy duty dark malt aroma, slight oat aroma as well. Big and chewy, slight burnt taste in the end. A little oat in the flavor as well. Very good. TOSG55 (40), Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA Oct 4, 2008 Bottle. Pours like motor oil, a deep black with absolutely no head. Excellent aroma of dark fruits, coffee, vanilla, caramel malts, and warming alcohol. The flavor is complex, with prominent notes of cherries, along with the more typical coffee, chocolate, and burnt oatmeal flavors. Creamy mouthfeel. An excellent imperial stout. KimJohansen (4285), Copenhagen V, Denmark Oct 2, 2008 Black with large light brown head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt, coffee and chocolate notes. Sweet flavour with loads of roasted malt, dark bitter chocolate and coffee notes. Hints of oatmeal. Lovely! Mes_and_Sim (4465), Highgate, Greater London, England Oct 1, 2008 A Mes rate: bottle thanks to my good mate Duff McShane. Supped up on Primrose HIll with Sim and Pauline. Awesome black body with a thick and creamy tan head. The aroma is absolutely bloody lovely. Huge chocolate, sumptuous black coffee, lovely oatmeal and gorgeous peppery alcohol. Magnificent stuff. Excellent creamy chocolate flavour with some good notes of liquorice. A ton of oatmeal giving a really thick mouthfeel. Good bitterness. A little one dimensional but it’s certainly good. A little too thick and sticky in the finish but it’s still an absolute cracker. Thanks a lot Duff!
