COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
BORIS the Crusher made with coffee from the Hippie Coffee Company in Canton, OH. Freshly roasted coffee flavor and aroma add satisfying levels of complexity to this robust stout, perfectly complimenting its intense, rich roasted character. Cold infusion with whole coffee beans keeps the bitterness low and the flavor high!

Draft: Dark brownish black color with medium brown head and no lacing. Aroma has rich cocoa malts and coffee notes. Flavor has bitter coffee and roasted cocoa malts. Okay overall but the added coffee makes it a little less smooth and balanced than Boris.

Fles gedeeld @Benzai’s Carnaval Tasting.

65 cl bottle @ home
Aroma has sweet mocha tones and licorice. Flavour has jalopeno-like vegetables, mocha, licorice and truffles. Also salty licorice and ash. Good, but I’d expect more from a BORIS. At the end of the glass the salty licorice takes over too much.

650ml bottle from Firma-Bier

Pours pitch black with a smooth white head. Aroma of roasty malts, coffee, hints of sweetish notes, chocolate, cocoa and vanilla. Taste is smooth, roasty and chocolatey with loads of coffee, hints of mocha, licorice and espresso. Finish is quite roasty and sweetish with some coffee, licorice and chocolate notes. Okay.

65 cl bottle.
Pours pitch black color with a small beige head. Roasted malts and dark chocolate on the aroma, coffee, espresso, some cocoa and vanilla notes. Flavor is chocolaty, roasty malty, mild brown sugar notes, caramel malts and espresso. Hops are mild, velvety palate. Very nice, though the coffee has turned towards vegetables already.

UPDATED: JAN 31, 2016 Boack, small tan head. Aroma: coffee dominates, heavy roasted coffee, some sweetness. Heavy body, medium sweetness. Flavour: lots of coffee again. Coffee opposes sweetness and makes it quite drinkable. Balanced.
