Pours as dark as night with a half finger mocha colored head that dissipates quickly and leaves a ring of lacing on the glass. Smells of breakfast roast coffee, some roasted malts, maybe a hint of chocolate. Mostly just like a cup of coffee; nothing that stands out. Taste starts with the bold roasted coffee as well as some milk chocolate. Then in the middle, the coffee flavor stays, but is accompanied with some creamy malt (probably oatmeal) that lightens the bold coffee flavor. Then the finish is much of the same, with bold, yet smooth coffee. Also the milk chocolate comes back and is accompanied with some peat flavors on the very back end. Becomes more bitter and a little more complex as it warms. Nothing really stands out with the smell and taste, but the palate is nice. Very smooth and creamy mouthfeel with a light medium body. Nice carbonation presence as well. Hoppin Frog is spot on with the silky mouthfeel. Have had more complex coffee porters. Not bad, but Hoppin Frog has much better offerings.

Pours black with a lighter brown head. Aroma is coffee and chocolate, smells like a coffee house drink. Taste is chocolate, roasty coffee, smoke kind of lingers arround, a bit thin, but that’s just me. Good stuff

Bottle, 22oz. A dense, two-finger dark beige head sits on top of a dark brown body. Lots of cold coffee in the aroma, with roasted malts, some herbal hints and vegetables. Some bitterness in the flavor, both of the hoppy and roasted malt kind it seems, with coffee pulling the heaviest load. It’s full-bodied and semi-dry, quite soft on the palate. Lasting finish with coffee. Sure a nice one, but I prefer the regular Silk Porter. 140307

Barwa: ciemna, pod światło głęboko rubinowa, klarowna. Piana beżowa, natychmiast zanikająca. Wysycenie minimalne, jednak ładna oleistość. [3/5] Aromat: cudowny balans kawy i czekolady. Delikatny i kuszący.

66cl from řlbutikken 90dkk. very dark brown, smooth brown head. aroma of roasted malts and coffee, the overall impression is slightly herbal but not green herbal as some coffe porters might be. flavor is roasted malts, sweet malts, coffee, ends with quite some coffee, and roasted malts. the flavor reflects the alc. percentage, the maltiness seems a bit shallow. Tasty brew nonetheless.

Pours dark reddish brown. Small beige head. Aroma is quite sweet; loaded with coffee, dusty cocoa, nutty, some caramel. Flavor much the same but not quite as powerful. Lighter medium body. Creamy. Nutty coffee finish. Good direction, focused. Excellent coffee beer, which I love, and I haven’t had one quite like this.

Strong chocolate, coffee, vanilla, cream aroma. Some malt. Taste is lighter than expected, but the flavor is certainly not lacking. Creamy, chocolate milky, coffee, roast, chocolate.
