Very nice aroma with hints of coffee. Pours an almost opaque black, with a quickly fading light tan head. The flavor is interesting, with coffee lingering in the back of the mouth with a touch of bittersweet chocolate. The coffee in this is much more subtle then in most other coffee infused beers. It’s light on the palate, with a long lingering coffee finish. This is an outstanding variation on the Silk Porter, and I’ll be picking up some more of this.

From a 22 oz bottle. Pours a deep clear brown with a tan head. Roasty nose. Flavors of coffee and cocoa. Smooth as a baby’s bottom.

Pours a dark orangish brown color. Aromas of bread, chocolate, and a hint of coffee. Flavor is kind of weak for a porter. Touch of caramel and chocolate in the flavor.

@ Basunen 16-4-2: Stor doft av kaffesump och aska. Smaken är tydlig med kaffe men munnkänsla är lite tunn. Ok men inget mer.

On tap at Beertemple, Amsterdam. Body is black, head is medium, brownish, creamy rocky, mostly lasting, excellent lacing. Nose is slightly smoky, chocolate, flavor is chocolate, rosted peanuts, light smoked cheese, mild coffee, roasted peanuts. Light sweet, medium to heavy bitter. Finish is medium lasting roasty and slightly smoky bitter. Full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Easy dessert beer, tasty, interesting.

Draught at BeerTemple. Very creamy, thick, lacing, light beige head over a near black beer. Aroma of espresso, coffee grounds, black tea, ’natural’ iron, fig, dried leaves; dried fruit sweetishness in onset, raisins, figs, bit ’metallic’ but not disturbingly so in this texture; lovely chocolatey and caramelly middle phase, lots of drying coffee powder indeed adding bitterness and spiciness, some warming alcohol in the end. Delicious porter.

Aroma is rich, roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, earthy, really nice. Appearance is dark brown, light tan head, slightly thin pour. Taste is wonderful, rich, roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, earthy, fantastic. Mouthfeel is pretty thick, soft carbonation, just really really good. Overall, I am a big fan of this.
