Very nice aroma with hints of coffee. Pours an almost opaque black, with a quickly fading light tan head. The flavor is interesting, with coffee lingering in the back of the mouth with a touch of bittersweet chocolate. The coffee in this is much more subtle then in most other coffee infused beers. Itís light on the palate, with a long lingering coffee finish. This is an outstanding variation on the Silk Porter, and Iíll be picking up some more of this.

Bottle:   Deep brown, cola hued edges, thin sudsy tannish head, little lacing.   Soft roasted malt nose, but stronger freshly ground coffee beans.   Smooth coffee beans and sweet roasted malts, a little lactose like sweetness.   Low bitterness.   Did I mention smooth?   I wouldnít say silky smooth, but good enough.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Sweet coffee and roasted malts on the finish.   Flavorwise its tasty, but I thought it would be more "silky" given the name?

Nice light-ish pitch black body with a nice brown head on top. Smells of coffee with hints of dark chocolate in the end. Tastes of dark coffee and in the back of the tongue dark chocolate. Medium aftertaste. The body is as the label says, silk. Itís the smoothest of the porters, awesomely balanced. Itíd be nice to be a bit thicker though. Every beer enthusiast must have this at least once.

Bottle @ benzai thx to Abijen. Dark brown with a ruby glow shining through, medium sized beige head. Smells roasty, lots of coffee, great. Tastes lots of coffee, some vanilla, roasty, whipped cream, some vanilla. After a while I think Iím starting to taste some hops. Purest coffee taste Iíve experienced in a beer. Silky, soft carbo.
