4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a snifter and a pint glass. The head lasts longer and concaves a bit in the snifter.
The rest of the appearance had a dark brown close to black color with a one finger of off white foaminess coating the sides of the glass. Light lacing graced the glass nicely.
The smell had mainly a roasty coffee to chocolate and added a nice sweetness between the coffee and chocolate.
The taste was sweet and roasty adding in a slight oatmeal.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with more of a sipping quality about it. This somewhat chewy beer ends up having a light pervasive harshness but still allows a decent creaminess to settle over my tongue.
Overall, this was an absolutely amazing opportunity for me to try this. If I could get it again, I would.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured from bottle to glass. Dark hue with creamy brown head. Aroma is coffee, barley, grassy, chocolate, caramel, ethanol. Mouthfeel is nice with full body and soft zesty carbonation. Taste is sweet initially with a nice astringent finish that extends through the finish with an ethanol essence. Overall this is a really nice brew.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
22 oz bottle at home from notes. Pours a dark brown to black color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have dark chocolate, big roast, hints of black coffee, molasses, earthy, resiny, wood, there is big bitterness beyond what Boris offers. Alcohol is warming, but finishes strong. I would love to cellar one to see if it smooths out some, but I drink them when they are around.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle shared with Asbjørn Skoffer (<3). Pours a pitch black with a dark brown shortlasted frothy head. Looks so good. Aromas of booze, chocolate, burned coffee, hints of oak and some soy aswell. Some black fruit sweetness. Taste is very dark, roasted coffee, chocolate, malt, sweet. Some earthy and oaky in there. Not very boozy taste at all! Has a pretty bittersweet and roasted ending.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Now we’re talking! Håper det går bra å sette seg på sykkelen etterpå.
