Beware! Beware! The Double Oatmeal Russian Imperial Stout will destroy your taste buds like no other. More hops and more malt than BORIS create a super deep roasted and full bodied flavor, making this the great, great grand daddy of all stout styles.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized very dark brown colored bubbles that were quickly diminishing and left behind a no visible carbonation opaque dark black brown colored body and a fair lacing. The nice aroma was vinous roasted malt sweet dark chocolate and dark malt. The vinous mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a strong roasted malt aftertaste. The yummy flavor contained notes of black malt roasted malt vinous burnt malt chocolate brown malt and dark malt. A wonderful best in class brew.

Bottle shared at Chriso’s. Black, small foamy brown head. Aroma is ashy, oats and coffee. Body is medium, slightly foamy, low carbonation. Taste is coffee, liquorice, oats, ashy with a dry finish. An excellent imperial stout. Big flavours yet nice and dry.

Not barrel aged but very close to the same sort of flavors. Lots of vanilla, burnt sugar and dark chocolate. Lots of nice bold hops in the back end. First time with this brewery and I’m looking forward to the next.

Sugary, so for the imperial you taste it, but it is all sugar. Molasses and brown sugars. Not thick and syrupy but medium body. Coats the tongue with sweet. Get me a water. Burnt caramel aroma. Dark color but no head or carbonation. Tap

From bomber bottle at home, dark fruits and coffee aromas, the hops give a clean finish, making it one of the easiest drinking imperial stouts I’ve had. A great beer.

Bottle at ChrisO’s Pre - GBBF tasting 2015. It pours jet black with a decent tan head. The nose is rich, oily, roasted malt, rocky road, chocolate cake and earth. The taste is rich roast, oily, earthy, charred stuff, wood, leather, mild acidity, chocolate, green hops, green coffee and warming alcohol with a dry, toasty finish. Medium - full body and moderate carbonation. Rich and punchy. Good imperial stout.
