Beware! Beware! The Double Oatmeal Russian Imperial Stout will destroy your taste buds like no other. More hops and more malt than BORIS create a super deep roasted and full bodied flavor, making this the great, great grand daddy of all stout styles.

Tap at CBC 2014. Deep black in the glass, small brownish head. Malty aroma with coffee notes. Starts not as intense malty as exspected, gets stronger and stronger, earthy-malty, some woody notes. Bitter background. Nice!

Bottle. The pour is dark with a thick dark head. The aroma is a malt bomb. The taste is big, but smooth. Dark chocolate notes. One of the better imperial stouts out there. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a dark black with a small tan head. Aroma of semi sweet chocolate, roast nuts, coffee, caramel, earth, and vanilla. Taste follows the nose with a bit of vanilla and maybe pine in there. I didn’t really taste the alcohol much. It was a pretty full bodied beer and filling. I enjoyed this one.

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a snifter and a pint glass. The head lasts longer and concaves a bit in the snifter. The rest of the appearance had a dark brown close to black color with a one finger of off white foaminess coating the sides of the glass. Light lacing graced the glass nicely. The smell had mainly a roasty coffee to chocolate and added a nice sweetness between the coffee and chocolate. The taste was sweet and roasty adding in a slight oatmeal. On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with more of a sipping quality about it. This somewhat chewy beer ends up having a light pervasive harshness but still allows a decent creaminess to settle over my tongue. Overall, this was an absolutely amazing opportunity for me to try this. If I could get it again, I would.
