COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Beware! Beware! The Double Oatmeal Russian Imperial Stout will destroy your taste buds like no other. More hops and more malt than BORIS create a super deep roasted and full bodied flavor, making this the great, great grand daddy of all stout styles.

This is a FANTASTIC beer. Pours a pitch black, with little foam, Aromas full of toasty oatmeal. Thick syrup black. This is a serious beer. Would almost say it’s perfect. And I get to have one all to myself!

Year or older bottle. Black no head. Has a stale cheap malt taste to it. Any coffee this may have had fell off. Wasnt all that impressed with this one.

glennmastrange (1884) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - FEB 17, 2013
Bottle. Heavy burnt cereal, dark bitter chocolate and mild coffee for the malt, light resin for the hops, moderate earth for the yeast, with tar, charcoal and bourbon in the background. Head is is just about non-existent, but has good legs. Color is almost black. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then the long finish is lightly to moderately bittersweet. Palate is full, between creamy and syrupy with an almost flat carbonation and a moderately alcoholic and sticky finish. The sweetness, though not outstanding, lingers a long time and the flavor is not as bold as I expected. This enigmatic Imperial Stout is world class

Bottle foo’. I pity the fool who does not like the jet black, tanned foam head, nose of major chocolate malt super silky beer. Like Mr. T wearing a chest of gold chains, this beer does not fly or actually shoot anyone targeted in the crosshairs..., but gives the illusion of a successfully mission. Soldier of fortune, for hire.

Aroma is fruit/berries, malts, vinous notes and hints of coffee and sweetness. The flavor is fruit/berries/vinous, roasted malts, coffee, undertones of chocolate and sweetness and a tangy/alcoholic finish.

First thing I said "God that nose is wonderful." After tasting, first thing I said "This is amazing." I really believe this is the best imperial stout I’ve had next to Dark Lord. I am VERY impressed with this and am happy to learn it isn’t nearly as difficult to get as Dark Lord. I need to find a case of this and just sit on it. This one only and 6-8 months on it and I can only image how amazing it will be after a few years on it. This was a soppy sweet wonderful excuse to spend an afternoon!!!

Bottle shared @ Animal. Black colour with minimal and non persistent tan head, quickly dissipating without lacework. Aroma is toasty, sweet, buttery and light hoppy. Alcoholic final with notes of toasted sugar, licorice, coffee, light whisky hints. Moderate bittery final with notes of vanilla and sweetness. High bodied with a medium carbonation.

This one is quite something. Pours thick, smooth, and very black with dark brown head which fades into an awesome light whisp atop the beer. Aromas are smoked meat, dark chocolate, wood, cream, roasted malt, booze, and hops. This beer completely makes loves to your palate...silky, supple, and soft. Amazing and sexy. Flavours dark chocolate liquore, bittersweet chocolate, smoke and wood. Hops and booze. A touch of sour at the end. Very well made, very delicious. So glad I was able to find this. Amazing.
