Beware! Beware! The Double Oatmeal Russian Imperial Stout will destroy your taste buds like no other. More hops and more malt than BORIS create a super deep roasted and full bodied flavor, making this the great, great grand daddy of all stout styles.

Poured like an iodine oil spill, staining the glass yellow wherever it touched. Nose was loaded with roasty character, hints of coffee and chocolate. Taste was just over the top, hot with booze, and tons of huge clashing flavors, not one stuck out for me, the roasty qualities were so strong it almost bordered on a charred flavor, the chocolate was over the top dark bitter chocolate, it was just too much at once.

Deep oily brown colour with cinnamon coloured head on top. Aroma has roasted coffee, malts, slight alcohol notes too. Taste is dry and salty, espresso coffee, roasted malts, liquor feel in the end with some alcohol tingle. Oily texture and lowish carbonation.

Pours an opaque very dark brown almost black color, like motor oil with similar viscosity and khaki colored head. Roasted malts, oats, chocolate, and some coffee on the nose; follows onto the palate. Full bodied, thick and very silk like on the palate. Finishes with dark chocolate and roast.

DWF; Bottle large, drunk at Hall Toll. Pours smal to moderate, black with frothy, lacing and lasting tan head. Nose is heavy, roasted malt, chocolate, coffe, moderate dried dark fruit, vanilla and light ash. Taste is heavy sweet and bitter with a lasting dark chocolate, warming finish. Body is full, texture is thick, carbonation soft. Nice..

Tap at BeerTemple. Black with brown head, one of the more darker heads I’ve seen on a beer. Lots of roasted malts up front, molasses, dried red fruits, lime pie, toffee, burnt toast, rye bread. Really strong on the roasted malts which gives a nice bitterness, but there’s a lot of sweetness too and plenty of citrusy hops to balance it out. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Nice stuff.

Sampled from tap at ’Beertemple’. Pitch black with a light brown head. Sweetish-malty, roasty aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, hazelnut, mocca and some vanilla. Sweetish, roasty-malty taste of coffee, dark chocolate, mocca, hazelnut and vanilla, followed by a long, roasty-bitter, slightly warming finish. Full body, creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Great!

Keg at Craft Beer Co, Covent Garden, London. A black coloured pour with a thin tan head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate aroma. Tastes roasty, malty, chocolate, slightly bitter. Another rich, classy heavyweight from Hoppin Frog Brewery.

Butelka. Aromat mocno palony i kakaowy. Smak głównie gorzki, palony, czekoladowo kakaowy, spore ciało, gładka faktura. Naprawdę fajnie rozbudowany stout.

Pours a deep dark black color with a small reddish brown head. Aromas of coffee, chocolate, with a hint of hops. Flavor has a lot of big chocolate taste, with some coffee, and I think a touch of smoke. A damn fine stout.

(Hoppin’ Frog DORIS The Destroyer) Bottle 650 ml at home, served into a snifter, ABV 10.5% Pitch black coloured body from a thick and silky pour. One of the darkest brown heads I’ve seen, almost a finger in size, with pretty good retention. Aroma of light roasted malts, molasses, dark fruits, touch of alcohol. Taste is sweet and malty with dark fruits, molasses, alcohol, burnt malts on the finish and a nice bitterness, dark chocolate, well hidden alcohol. Full body with soft carbonation. Very good.

UPDATED: MAY 2, 2016 65cl bottle, served in snifter glass. Poured pitch black like greasy engine oil with a small one finger tan head that disappeared quickly. Low carbonation. Aromas of chocolate, vanilla, coffee, licorice, dark fruits. Taste: Oooooh that is so fingerlickin’ good! Dark chocolate, roasted espresso beans, oatmeal currant bread, Haagse Hopjes (Dutch caramel/coffee sweets), molasses, it has vinous qualities, vanilla, caramelized creme brulee, roasted bread with jam, licorice, raisins, butterscotch, roasted nuts. Absolutely divine! It’s got this enormous thick, and gloopy mouthfeel, very sticky on the palate. A FULL body with a long super ROASTED bittersweet finish. Double oatmeal it most certainly is. This is a an absolute monster of an Imperial Stout it’s almost scary. I dare anyone to experience this...WOW!
