Special hoppy flavors and aromas are captured by adding freshly picked, undried hops during the harvest. These wet hops impart a character unlike other brews, that is quite unique and satisfying for those who love hops – the spice of beer. Smell the hop fields, smell the freshness.

Draft at the Hoppin Frog tasting room in Akron. 5oz pour. Golden amber color with a thick head. Aroma of orange, mango, pine and floral hops. Also a malty character hits the nose. The taste is bold citrus and pine flavors with a bitter finish. Well balanced with the malts. Slight oily with a medium overall body. Kind of a wet cut grass aroma on the finish. Bitter also.

Thanks to errl for sharing this bottle. Copper pour with a white head. The aroma and flavor have some strong tropical fruit and pine notes as well as some biscuit malt and a low to medium amount of bitterness. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Bomber thanks to JStax! Pours a cloudy dark copper with a small foamy head that fades to a ring. Aroma is sweet, juicy fruit, mangoes, pineapple, oranges, and a touch of pine. Taste is sweet and juicy as expected. Fresh, oily hops mixed with a fairly thick caramel malt backbone. Big bitter finish with spicy hops and tea. Medium to thick body. A tad rough to drink but very good flavors.

This one poured a dark golden color with a white head. Aroma was really fresh grapefruity and citrusy hops. Almost orange like. Flavor was again orange like, mild earthy notes and nice raw hop flavors.

Bottle thanks to Jstax ! Pours a orange copper color with a two finger eggshell foam. The nose is round malt sweetness with a juicy citrus peeking through. On the palate it follows the nose with the malt profile taking a front seat right from the fridge, but as the beer warms a bit there is a big juicy dose of grapefruit, tangerine and a bitter citrus pith. Really starts to shine and open up nicely. Solid brew, thanks for hooking up a bottle Jstax !

22 ounce bottle directly from the source three days after its release. Poured into a Hoppin Frog 8 oz snifter. I’ve been wanting to try this one for a long time now, and I finally get the chance. Pours a murky copper color with a white head of foam that starts sort of fluffy, but moves to more of a ring around the edge of the glass quickly. The aroma has big grapefruit and orange rind with a gently malt profile hiding in the background. Makes me think of a hop tea. Big, juicy hop bomb. The taste is a sweeter hop bitterness. There’s a nice drying bitterness that kicks in about mid palate and finishes things off. Another delicious beer from one of my all time favorite breweries. This beer rocks!

UPDATED: JUL 13, 2013 650 ml bottle. From bierkompass.de.
Hazy amber colour with a tiny white head. The aroma is quite nice with hops, sweetness, malt and some bitterness. The flavour is far from fresh. I’m not quite sure how aged this is but it’s not fresh anymore. Some hoppy bitterness and malty body.
