COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
There’s a place just south they call Frog’s Hollow, brewin’ pumpkin ale in Fall, and they only speak in whispers of the name. There’s a lady they say who has the secret, of spices picked just right. With a crying shout, she’ll knock it out, and hand you the Frog’s delight.

In bottle, thanks Craig. Pours a dark golden colour with a lacy white head. Aroma of spiced pumpkin with nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger. Alcohol is fairly present with similar spiced pumpkin flavours. Mild carbonation and light CO2 prickle. Very nice.

UPDATED: JAN 28, 2012 Bottle, thanks Craig! Pale slightly hazy orange, bubbly head fades to nothing. Big pumpkin pie nose, nutmeg, ginger, spices. Juicy pumpkin fruit front, spices also, slight tropical hop finish. Yum.

Bottle at Camp Beer IX. Pours a clear orange with virtually no head. Cinnamon and  spice aroma. Medium mouthfeel with a light spice flavor. Easy to drink a very good spice brew from Hoppin Frog.

$9.25 bomber purchased back in early November at Lukas Liquors Lone Tree. Clear amber orange with a small, yellowish beige head, much like soda pop with the fizziness and lack of any head retention. Flavor has some pumpkin and sweet potato brown sugar notes up front, and then kinda hangs in the middle the rest of the way through to the finish, which was bone dry, thanks to the alcohol (which was fairly warm. Lotta spices going on in the flavor--buttery (not diacetyl) vanilla and allspice, clove cinnamon, etc all beat the hell out of your taste buds. The alcohol kept this far from cloying, though it def has some sweet notes. Bitterness peaked at a 2, lightly earthy. Went backwards with the aroma/flavor thing, but the aroma was much the same as the flavor--a little less pumpkin, but still has the brown sugar sweetness and loads of spice. Medium full body that is lightened by the fizzy pin prick carbonation. Very spicy pumpkin beer, but the pumpkin/sweet potato element was present throughout, which usually doesn’t seem to happen with a lot of pumpkin beers, esp crazily spiced ones. I liked it.

A very spicy flavour of cinnamon and pumpkin. Dark amber in colour with a very quickly fading head.

Clear amber almost without head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, fruity and spicy - nutmeg and cinnamon. Flavor is quite sweet and light bitter. Dry and light bitter finish. 070112

Enjoyed at the Black Friday Tasting pouring up clear deep gold with copper hues and thin off white head. The aroma has spicy notes and pumpkin, some mild fruit esters and a modest level of booziness. The taste has some spicy notes mixing with sweet and earthy pumpkin meat and more sweet malt enhanced winter spices rolling in toward the finish. This is thick and rich and spicy goodness.
