There’s a place just south they call Frog’s Hollow, brewin’ pumpkin ale in Fall, and they only speak in whispers of the name. There’s a lady they say who has the secret, of spices picked just right. With a crying shout, she’ll knock it out, and hand you the Frog’s delight.

22oz bottle. Pours a rich glowing orange auburn, appears syrupy, thin bubbly off-white head 3.5. Aroma is heavily spiced, mostly clove, nutmeg, apple cider, lighter ginger, some cinnamon, and pumpkin, smells sweet. Flavor is heavy ginger and cinnamon, lighter pumpkin, fairly sweet but just below being cloying. Strong allspice and ginger aftertaste with a touch of bitterness. Medium/full bodied, syrupy, low carbonation.

Bomber into pint glass. Nice clear golden body with a small white head. Aroma of pumpkin, spices, pale and amber malt. Flavor: pumpkin, spice, doughy cake, and pale malt. Medium body with fine carbonation. Nice mouth feel. Overall: nice pumpkin beer, but if your gonna go pumpkin, go PUMKING!!!

Bottle Pours a clear orange amber with a thin off white head. The head vanishes rapidly. No lace at all. Aroma is nutmeg spices, cinnamon, and pumpkin. Has a good carbonation. The flavor is spicy pumpkin pie. Mouthfeel is great. Has hints of ginger snap cookies. Has a medium body. The texture is spicy water. A good finish with a bakery like aftertaste. This is a leader in the pumpkin beer catagory.

Wow, still not sure what to say. Pumpkin smell, pumpkin taste. Just like the bottle says, you will pick up the cinnamon, ginger, numeg hints. This ale is a very good seasonal offering, but I will not be re-purchasing. BORIS The Crusher is easily still the best offering from this brewery, but this is not a bad brew.

Another solid offering from Hoppin Frog.I understand that there are 2 kinds of pumpkin beers. You have one that is pure pumpkin, no spices and there is the one ones that remind you of pumpkin pie. This Frog is of the pie kind and this is the one I enjoy.Cinanmon, nutmeg, alspice vanilla aromas. The flavor belting out the same but not overwhelming rich.A good dessert beer.Had this side by side with Weyerbachers version and Pumking.

Bottle number three of a pumpkin ale side by side tasting. Very light aroma of pumpkin pie. This one was a nice middle man of the previously rated Pumpking and Imperial Pumpkin...This one had both spices and pumpkin, but very lightly done. There was some sort of funk on the back end. A sour funky finish that kind of turned this one for me. Kept this one from being my number one. Nicely done but I think I like mine sweeter.

Clear orange-amber pour with very thin white head that dissipates. Aroma of nutmeg, all spice, cinnamon, pie crust. Flavor is much more spice than pumpkin, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Lots of cinnamon and nutmeg, and light creaminess. Some brown sugar. Can’t taste any alcohol at all. Really one of the better pumpkin beers available.
