There’s a place just south they call Frog’s Hollow, brewin’ pumpkin ale in Fall, and they only speak in whispers of the name. There’s a lady they say who has the secret, of spices picked just right. With a crying shout, she’ll knock it out, and hand you the Frog’s delight.

Pour clear orange and a little thick. Light film of foam that disappears quickly. Aroma is nice pumpkin spice. I get nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice and clove. Taste is a little lighter than I expected but nice. Same pumpkin spice but mellowed. I think I get some hops. Heavier mouthfeel with quite a bit of carbonation. This is a very nice pumpkin ale. It's the spiced variety that I like but not over the top. Good stuff. More beer please...

Bottle to goblet After a long, hard day with no true breakfast, lunch or dinner, I’m settling down at 3 am with a home made pumpkin pie with whipped cream and this beer. I hope it’s worth the wait. Perhaps a bit gourdy on the nose, surely pumpkin, and a load of spices; cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, clove and maybe even pepper. There’s a bit of sourness behind it all too. Colour is a lovely translucent amber pumpkin pie with a thin smattering of an off white head. Taste is a bit boozy, lots of pumpkin, and then mostly clove, ginger and cinnamon. It’s a frog’s hollow of a pumpkin beer and made even greater by the pie.

All the familiar spices are in the aroma. Perhaps cinnamon is the most aggressive. Light body, big taste of pumpkin first before the spices kick in. They’re milder than expected, but it definitely works. Cinnamon and clove stand out the most. Bit of heat from the ginger. No surprise, it’s great. Definitely top tier of pumpkin beers!

"Well done spices and a nice full bodied warming ale. Cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, brown sugar and even some vanilla, along with pumpkin. Light in color but creamy and smooth. Well above average for the style, just short of the elites."

Bottle. Pours a hazy brown color. Smell comes out right Away. Has almost an artificial taste but the cinnamon, cloves and spice blend very well together. Not bad for one if my least favorite styles of beer
